Bucky headed into the kitchen, and started some coffee. He considered making breakfast, but had absolutely zero knowledge of how to work the stove, so decided against it.

(Former Soviet Assasin Burns Down Stark Tower In Attempt to Make Breakfast)

Steve finished getting ready, slipping on a plain white tee and some comfortable jeans before heading down to the kitchen, his hair still damp as he caught sight of Bucky. He smiled shyly, recalling their last conversation. "Morning," He greeted, affectionately touching his waist as he moved behind him to reach for a mug.

(Tony Stark Furious)

Bucky gave him a quick smile as he poured himself some coffee. "Morning." he replied. He blinked at the touch to his waist, a soft smile tugging at his lips.

Steve poured himself some coffee after Bucky, his hands moving in a practiced routine of adding sugar and cream. "Sleep okay?" He prompted, leaning back against the counter as he took a sip of his drink.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky nodded a little bit. "Yeah." he replied, looking over at Steve. "You?" he brushed back some hair out of his face, tucking it behind his ear.

Steve smiled softly, glad that Bucky hadn't had any nightmares, "Good enough. Woke up a little too early, though," He sighed, shrugging slightly,

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky smiled a little bit. "Yeah. I saw your note." he replied, thinking of the little folded animal with Steve's handwriting on it.

"Oh yeah?" Steve said, smiling around the rim of his mug, "Hm, well– I didn't wanna wake you. You looked all comfy and cute asleep."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky rolled his eyes. "We've had this conversation. I'm not cute." He replied, shaking his head and taking a sip of his coffee.

"We have," Steve said with a nod and a smile, "We agreed to disagree, but I stand by it. And…it's not a bad thing."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He shook his head. "I'm a dangerous assassin, Steve, I'm not cute." he replied stubbornly, taking another sip of his coffee.

"Former assassin," Steve corrected, raising his eyebrows and nodding, "–Dangerous things can be cute," He added with a cheeky smile.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He snorted. "I'm still an assassin, and I'm not cute." he insisted again, narrowing his eyes at Steve and shaking his head a little bit.

Steve smiled and rolled his eyes. "Fine," He said, meeting Bucky's gaze with raised eyebrows, "What word would you have me use to describe you, then? If not cute."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He grimaced a little bit. "I don't know. but I'm not cute." he took another sip of his coffee, tucking a strand of hair back behind his ear.

"Hmph," Steve said, smiling as he looked down at his coffee mug, "Whatever you say, then. Cute or not cute, you still looked too comfortable to wake up."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He rolled his eyes, shaking his head a little bit. "Fine." he replied, sitting down at the breakfast bar and taking another sip of coffee.

Steve placed his mug on the counter, reaching up into the cupboards for the cereal he'd bought earlier that week. Of course, it was the sugary, generic type usually marketed toward children, but he'd seen them on the shelves at the store and just couldn't resist. "You want some cereal?" He asked Bucky, noting how it didn't seem like he'd prepared anything.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky blinked. "Sure. I would have made food, but…I don't know how to work the stove." He admitted, getting up again and getting some bowls down for the both of them.

"Hm," Steve said with a nod, glancing over at the high-tech cooktop and the touchscreen side panel of settings. "Sam showed me how to work it; it's not too hard." He said as he walked to the fridge, "I can show you later today, if you like."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky nodded a little bit. "Alright." he replied slowly. "That would be…nice, yeah."

Steve nodded and brought the carton of milk out of the fridge, setting it down on the counter. He poured some cereal into his bowl, sliding the box over to Bucky as he poured in his milk. "They were a lot simpler back then. Stoves– I mean." Steve said, looking through a drawer for some spoons, "I remember in my old apartment– it was a rickety two-burner kinda thing. Didn't do much good."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He let out a little laugh, pouring himself some cereal. "Yeah. I…remember that thing." he said slowly, a vague image of it in his head. "Didn't I have to like…kick it to get it to work, at one point?"

Steve chuckled, nodding as he brought over some spoons. "Mhm, yeah," He smiled, recalling the sight of Bucky holding the frail thing on its edges and giving it a jarring shake before cussing at the burner that still wouldn't heat up, "I told you that beating the shit out of my stove wouldn't fix it– but you proved me wrong, I guess."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky shrugged. "If it didn't work anyways, then no harm, right?" His mouth twitched into a faint smile as he laughed at himself.

"Sure, no harm." Steve nodded, smiling softly as he poured some milk into his cereal, "But I told ya one of them still worked, so it wasn't too bad. And then you just gave me this look, like–" He smiled, shifting his expression into something sarcastic.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky laughed a little bit, running a hand through his hair and shrugging. "Hey, in my defense, it worked better afterwards."

"Yeah..it did," Steve nodded, eating a spoonful of cereal, "–After you beat the shit outta it. The poor thing; hangin' on for dear life," He chuckled.

(sorry i wasn't too active today/ yesterday ~online school is kicking my ass)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky smiled a little bit, taking a bite of his own cereal. "Mm. Well. Whatever works, I suppose." he replied with a shrug, looking over at his friend.

(it's fine!)

"Yeah," Steve said with a breathy laugh, "–You used to do the same thing to jukeboxes when they acted up. Just a good hit and things were back in order."
