“Well, you rudely interrupted a nice date I was having with a bottle of whiskey. So, if you don’t mind getting the fuck away from my home, the whiskey awaits me,”he replied, his voice slightly slurring.

Malcolm’s glare sharpened and he pulled out a pistol, aiming it directly between Hiro’s eyes with a steady hand.

“Try me, boy. I’ve been holding a gun for a lot longer than you’ve been alive.”

He still swayed, but his hand never moved. What seemed to be the edge of a smile curved his lips, as if he was feeling a bit giggly.

Malcolm’s smile vanished and he rolled his eyes. He then remembered that this particular gun he kept mostly for show, because it was one of his oldest guns and barely worked. He snickered, but decided to keep up the act anyway.

“Might I have my fucking gun back? You’re not worth wasting a bullet on, you damn brat.”

He waved his fingers for the gun. The fingers of his other hand held the door frame, keeping him steady, and inching to a release button hidden in the wall.

Malcolm chuckled.

“You know, if you had paid attention, you would have realized how useless that gun was. You just turned a piece of shit into valuable material.”

He tapped the hidden button on the wall, and it flashed red once. Nothing happened, but a smile came to Malcolm’s lips and he moved to retrieve some tools to remove the metal from the floor.

“A gang of rogues had started a few houses down and stole some of my machines. That gang is now no more. Damn, how I missed watching idiots drop dead. Fucking hysterical, it is.”

Malcolm sat down and used various tools, quickly getting the blob of hardened metal from the floor. He held it in his hand, unfazed by the burns appearing on his hand from the hot metal.

“That could make… hmm… about seventy nanobots. Lovely,”he mused.

He stood and set the metal on his counter, immediately returning to the door.

“Is there anything else, or you just deliberately ruining my somewhat improved mood?”

“I hate every-fucking-one. Or did you miss the part where I said I hate fucking organic folk?”Malcolm huffed.

“Oh, then what the fuck are you, besides annoying?”

Malcolm glanced off behind Hiro, then sighed, looking back at the boy.

Malcolm crouched down, inspecting the metal spine. He hummed, fascinated by the smooth transition. An intrigued grin came to him.

“Just the spine, or your entire skeleton?”he wondered.

He leaned against the doorframe, seeming much more open to conversation than before.

“Even the brain stem. Well, so there actually is something interesting about you.”

Malcolm suddenly glanced at his hand, finally noticing how bad his burned hand hurt.

“Well shit. Fucking typical that my nerves would be fucked after so many years,”he sighed.

He glanced at Hiro, his eyes narrowing.

“I will let you in while we talk, but if you fuck up anything else of mine, you will become my next experiment.”

Malcolm laughed at that, moving inside.

“I’m human and almost a hundred and fifty years old. You think I give a shit if I die.”

He grabbed a med-kit from the back of one the counter, spraying his hand with something then wrapping it in bandages.

“If you come in, make sure to shut that door. I’ve got enough visitors, and don’t have the patience for any others.”

( @maximus-pinpoint is William. @Noblesse is Ruthie. I don’t think Ruthie has really been involved though. Uncertain shrug. Don’t mind me)

(That’s hysterical! It was actually really tempting, but Malcolm, being the unsociable bastard he is, is more of a ‘look, don’t touch’ sort of guy, unless it’s already dead or one of his creations)
