More than A fan
August was all ready for their date and was driving to go pick up Jess. He couldn't stop checking himself in the mirror, worried about mistakes. The clock read 7:28 and he would be a few minutes late.
Jessica was wearing a sleeveless black dress that went down to right above her knees with lace at the top . She was wearing short boots that didn´t go up very high and threw her hair in a ponytail.
August was wearing a suit with a black jacket and white undershirt and a black bow tie. He had some dark eyeshadow on too. He arrived at Jess's house.
Jessica walked outside and smiled at August.
She returned the smile. "You're looking beautiful as always."
Jessica blushed but you couldn't see it because of the darkness "Thanks" she said.
August drove and chatted. "How are your friends?"
"Fine" she said as she stared off into the distance.
"That's good. They seemed nice." August wondered what she was looking at. What is she thinking?
"Yeah I'm planning there wedding" she said.
"Cool!", August exclaimed. He was impressed that she could do something like that. "I'd fail at planning a wedding.", he laughed.
"Well I am the maid of honor" she said with a laugh.
"…What's that?"
" an umarried woman as one of the bridesmates." she said.
"Cool?", he laughed nervously.
Jessica looked at August with a raised eyebrow.
"What? I've never been to a wedding.", he said defensively.
"Hmmmm" she said hummed "I still have to find a date" she said.
August was confused and hurt. "What about me?" Were they not really dating? What could she mean?
"I'd ask you but I don't wanna pull attention away from the bride." she said,
"Ask me what?" He was very confused now.
"To be my date silly" she said.
"Oh.", he said. Then he just laughed the whole situation off, but his nervousness lingered. Did I sound stupid?
Jessica smiled as closed her eyes and leaned back in the seat.
"Sorry…" Is she mad?
"For what" she said as she opened her eyes.
"Ah… um" He stumbled over the words he wanted to say. That I'm not good enough for you?
Jessica cocked her head "Hmmmm" she asked.
