Veronica walked down the busy street, flinching away every time someone bumped her. She hummed quietly to herself, hoping no one would hear. Despite it being the middle of spring, her earmuffs were still slung around her neck. Veronica was going to get a cup of tea at the cafe down the block, clinging to the ten dollar bill sitting in her pocket.

Veronica veered around people and made it into the cafe. She ordered her tea shyly, then turned to find a seat but bumped into someone. Their eyes met (This can be anyone btw)

Cherith glanced up when she bumped into the girl. "Oh, sorry." She smiled a little.

“I- um- I’m so sorry,” Veronica replied in a panicked rush, letting her hair fall in her face.

Her smiled faltered a bit. "No, really it's fine. Don't worry about it." She stepped around the girl and made her way up to the counter.

Veronica shyly went to find a seat. Gosh she was so awkward. She hated herself for it. She glanced down at her arm, but then sipped her tea.

Cherith ordered a coffee and sat down in the corner. She pulled out a notebook and started muttering to herself, occasionally writing something down.

Veronica took out her folder of art sketches and went through them, looking over her shoulder to make sure no one saw them too. She went to grab her pencil, but it fell off the table and rolled to the corner of the cafe, where the girl she bumped into was sitting. Veronica shyly got up out of her seat and walked towards her pencil.

Cherith noticed the pencil and bent down to pick it up.

Veronica’s eyes met with the girl’s, “I, um- Sorry again,” Veronica said nervously. She felt it was awkward enough, so she might as well introduce herself, “I’m Veronica.”

Cherith picked up the pencil and handed it to her. "Cherith. Nice to meet you."

“Nice to meet you too,” Veronica responded shyly, but then she saw Cherith’s notebook. It looked very well taken care of. Veronica opened her mouth, “What are you writing?”

"Oh, it's just, ideas I guess. Stories, songs, drawings." She smiled a bit.

“That’s cool,” Veronica said with a tiny smile. She didn’t say anything else for a few seconds, then felt awkward just standing there, “I’m sorry for bothering you, I should go” Veronica made to turn around.

"You're not bothering me.." She said quietly, scribbling something down.
