She glanced up at someone who sat down next to her and moved her bag, mumbling a greeting.

Reese heard the girl mutter something that sounded like "Hey".
"Hi," Reese replied, taking off her jacket to reveal her University field hockey shirt.

( I'm thinking that for the sake of simplicity, we call it just University. Also, when I type in Reese, my tablet's autocorrect wants me to say Reese Witherspoon and I'm like "Yes, I like her, but I'm trying to rp now so…" )

“You’re on the team?” She asked, notcingint the shirt.

"Oh, no. Not basketball. Field hockey," she corrected, trying not to sound rude. " I'm not very good at basketball," she added.

“Yeah, that’s what I meant,”mane said hastily. “I’m not very good at it either - I don’t even like it. I’m not entirely sure why I’m here.”

"I'm free and bored, so I just figured out the biggest sporting event going on tonight. And I like to watch basketball. Isn't it weird how you like to watch something, and you try to do it and you're just like 'Nope!'? "

Fae wandered up the bleachers, a book under one arm, and saw Adena sitting with a girl she didn’t recognize. Fae sat down next to Adena and said, with forced cheerfulness, “Hey, Adena! Who’s the new kid?”

"I'm Reese," Reese said, offering her hand to the cheery girl. "And you are?"

“Fae,” Fae replied, shaking Reese’s hand quickly and then opening her book. “As I’m sure Adena’s told you, she has no idea why she’s here, and to be honest, neither do I…”

"Yup. I'm here to see the new freshman play," Reese said. She turned to Adena, "So you're Adena. Pleased to meet you. And you probably know that I'm Reese by now."

“Yeah, nice to meet you Reese,” she mumbled, peering at Fae’s book cover.

Raven and Daisy arrived T the Rec stadium and Daisy changed quickly into her uniform. She winked at Raven and smiled as she tied her shoes. A series of high fives were exchanged. “Let’s do this”

"Yep," she tightened her ponytail and waits for Daisy.

With the rest of the team they run out on to the court. The crowd roars around them. It was exhilarating.

Raven looked around, and couldn't help about the smile that was making its way onto her lips.

The smile was also on Daisy’s face. Covering it from ear to ear. (We should probably wait for the others.)

She looked at Daisy and smiled with a shine in her eyes, that only basketball can bring out.

Reese clapped, seeing the team emerge from the locker room. "Whoo-hoo!!" she yelled loudly, blending in with the thunderous applause from the rest of the stands.

the ball was tossed and the game began. It was super close. Daisy worked hard and played her best. “Raven I’m open!” She yelled

“Yay,” Fae called distractedly, absorbed in her book.

“This is great. Why are we here again?” Adena muttered to Fae. It wasn’t that she hated basketball. It just wasn’t interesting and she had homework.

“I have no idea,” Fae said, marking her page with a finger and turning to look at Adena. “Do you want to leave?”

“It’d feel kinda awkward cause the game has started,” she shrugged, leaning back.

“Yeah,” Fae said. “That’s a good point. Should we just make the best of it?”

Reese cheered as a girl scored a basket. What's her name… Daisy?

Raven was running around the court, trying to get open.

“Sure?”

“Yeah,” Fae said, leaning back in her seat. “Being social can’t be that hard.”
