"My Hero Academia?" Thorn asked, "Haven't heard of it, but Soul Eater is really good."

“I’m much better with a gun, but I’m obviously not going to fucking shoot you,” Vaughn said, slowly shaking his head. He ran a hand through his hair, then took another bite of his burgers straightening his posture slightly.

"Fair point. Though judging by how absolutely obnoxious I am, I'm surprised you haven't at least tried," Kaz said with a shrug, taking another sip of his beer to drown the small voice in the back of his head that was beginning to beg him to piss Vaughn off. Thank god for alcohol

"My Hero Academia?" Thorn asked, "Haven't heard of it, but Soul Eater is really good."

"It's kinda new," Lana said. "We can binge watch it sometime soon. It's on season 3 now."

@ShadeStar

Thorn nodded, "Okay, what's it about? Is the plot complex or simple?"

@WriteOutofTime

"It's pretty straightforward," she replied. "It's about a world where almost everyone has superpowers, or quirks, and learn to be heroes. It's got Naruto vibes, kinda. We follow this one character as he tries to get stronger and become the number one hero."

@ShadeStar

"Oh that does sound cool," Thorn smiled, "What's the character's abilities?"

@WriteOutofTime

"It's kinda like super strength, but not really." Lana paused. "You know what, they explain it really well in the show. I don't want to ruin it."

@ShadeStar

Thorn nodded, "Okay. I guess I'll just have to watch it then. Man I am so behind in pop culture."

@WriteOutofTime

"That's okay, that just gives us plenty to do," Lana said excitedly. "Means we'll never get bored."

@ShadeStar

Thorn smiled, "I guess it does! We just were unprepared today, that's all."

@WriteOutofTime

"Yep, next time instead of a sketchbook," she said, "I'll bring my laptop, my phone, and an HDMI cord. No more boring afternoons filled with Jeopardy and Family Feud." She gestured to the old TV with a laugh.

@ShadeStar

Thorn laughed, "No more Twilight! God that makes me so happy."

@WriteOutofTime

"You'll never have to even think about…what's his name? Edward?" Lana shook her head. "No more sparkly vampires."

@ShadeStar

Thorn let out a grateful sigh, "I'm really glad you talked to me. Otherwise I never would have known what I've missed out on. My brother can't visit me all that often, so I can go months without contact from the outside world."

@WriteOutofTime

"I'm really glad I talked to you, too," she said with a grin. "Also, if my aunt actually shows up this weekend, you can meet her. Just in case you get tired of seeing the same face all the time. And my drug dealer." She looked at Thorn. "That last part was a joke."

@ShadeStar

Thorn smiled, "I figured. And I would love to meet your aunt, though I doubt I'll get tired of you."

@WriteOutofTime

Lana blushed a little, glancing away. "Well, good. Because I'm definitely sticking around."

@ShadeStar

Thorn blushed realizing what she said, "That's good. I-I don't think I want you to leave."

@WriteOutofTime

Lana looked back at her, her heart rate quickening. "W-we're being so sappy," she said with a breathy laugh.

@ShadeStar

Thorn looked back. She felt her heart beat increase and breathing became a bit harder, "Y-yeah. I guess we are."

@WriteOutofTime

"Your eyes are different up close," Lana said suddenly. Their faces were inches apart. "Still red, but with flecks of brown and gold. Very…very beautiful."

@ShadeStar

Thorn's face heated up so she turned redder, "I-I 've never noticed that."

She didn't mind the closeness at all, shockingly.

@WriteOutofTime

"I was stupid to think I could ever capture such beauty on a page," she whispered, her voice horse. "It's like trying to fit an ocean into a bottle."

@ShadeStar

Thorn gulped, "I-I don't think you did that bad of a job. You captured it p-pretty well."

@WriteOutofTime

"So the ocean doesn't know her own beauty," she said with a gentle smile. "The greatest artist in the world could never capture something so perfect."

@ShadeStar

Thorn tilted her head, "I don't know what you mean by that. I-I'm not that pretty."

@WriteOutofTime

"No, you're not pretty," Lana snorted, "you're…unique. Gorgeous. To describe you as pretty would be to discredit you."

@ShadeStar

Thorn was pretty sure her face was cherry red at the moment, "Th-thanks."

@WriteOutofTime

"Okay, not to ruin the moment," Lana said, trying not to laugh, "but since your skin is so pale it's really, really obvious you're blushing." She let out a small giggle.

@ShadeStar

Thorn hit her playfully, "Shut it. I know that."
