Alyssia, unlike most people, was a morning person. She loved to wake up early and watch the sunrise and listen to the birds' chirp. The morning was also a favorite time because not most people were out in the early hours of the day. So she could go outside, take a walk without there being a crowd or feel like she was being watched or frowned upon. She could just be her. Alyssia was on her way to school (college). Yes, she walked, as her apartment was not far away. There were few people out and about, but as time etched on, more people and cars came out of their homes. She kept her head down, walking the familiar path to her school when something dropped in her line of vision. She picked up what to looked to be something very old, a family heirloom perhaps.
