Her eyelids flew open. "My parents…" She moaned aloud.

Darren chuckled, "What about your parents?"

"They'll find out that I skipped." Paige began to panic.

"Not if you don't tell them….."

"They probably already know. My mom's best college friend has the room right beside Mrs. Callop's (her science teacher). Why didn't i think about that…"

"The other teachers don't care about attendance so just tell them that you were in the nurses office for that class, you weren't feeling well,"

Paige bit her lip. "You think that they'll buy it?"

"What reason do they have not to," He said confidently.

"I… don't know," Paige admitted. She moved a little closer to him, partially hoping that some if his confidence would rub off on her.

Darren nodded, "I mean or you could tell them that the quarterback kidnapped you and forced you to go all over town with him,"

Paige giggled. "That they might not believe…" She leaned her cheek against Darren's bicep.

She smiled. She truly loved being with Darren. Who knew that a geeky girl would end up with a jock?

Darren smiled back at her, he didn't even notice stereotypes anymore, now it was just him and Paige and he really didn't care that much what other people thought.

"I should be getting home. Could you drive me?"

"Y-yeah of course," He nodded, home wasn't a place he wanted to be.

"We, uh, don't have to go. Right now. We could… Uh…"

"I can take you home if you want I just won't be going to my house anytime soon,"

"We could just… Talk. Or something."

"Whatever you want," He smiled as they approached his car.

"Or not talk," Paige added stupidly.

Darren laughed, "I like talking to you, I was just saying that if you needed to get home I would be willing to take you,"

"Oh, okay," Paige whispered. She toyed with her jacket sleeve.

Darren got into the car and started it up, waiting for her to climb in he turned music on.
