(hey @allthegoodusernamesweretaken feel free to critique the backstory a bit since it's got to do with Lio's)
Name: Carson Skye
Age: 36
Gender/Pronouns: Male, he/him
Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Demisexual/Biromantic with a female preference
Personality: Carson was a wild kid but he settled into his "old age" rather gracefully. He's cheerful and sweet, always ready to give advice or lend a helping hand to one of the newbies, and every night he's there to tell stories of the dashing adventures a nearly 20-year long career in piracy gives you in spades. He walks around with easy confidence, like he was made to be part of the ship's crew, and always puts on a self-assured face in front of others. His steadiness and dependability make him a good friend, helped by his fierce loyalty. However, in private, he's plagued by doubts about how much longer he'll last in the open sky. Things are changing around him, and he'd never been quite adaptable enough to change with them, especially not as his old age catches up to him.
Motivations: To get enough money to retire, to prove to himself that he can still be helpful to the people in his life.
Moral Alignment: Neutral good
Appearance: He's tall (I'd say 5'10), well-muscled from years of ship work and tanned from head to toe. Every part of him looks weathered and worn smooth, from the crow's feet around his eyes to the callouses on his palms. His eyes, bright green and twinkling, are the brightest thing about him except his smile and the white prematurely streaked through his rusty red hair. He has thick scars on his palms from his first few years on a pirate airship (engine explosion bby) and a crooked nose from getting into one too many youthful fistfights.
Worst Fear: That his age will get the best of him and he won't be able to do his job/will let down his captain
The Role on the Ship: Quartermaster
Why They Joined and How Long They've Been There: He's been on the crew for as long as there's been a crew to be on as a long time friend (ally? acquaintance? who knows. relationships hard) of Lio's, and joined mainly to get in one last hurrah before his body gives up on him.
Brief Backstory: Carson was, quite literally, born for the sky. His mother and father were both some of the earliest airship pilots to roman the skies, and he was surrounded by the great metal/magic beasts since he could walk. His childhood was spent wandering the halls of the S.S. Andromeda, one of the big military airships that defined the early technology. As he grew, the restrictions of military life began to weigh on him, and the expectation that he would join the military as soon as he came of age never really sat well with him. Being dumb, impulsive, and completely inspired by the stories of pirate airships, he struck out to seek his fortune on the wrong side of the law. For the first few years, things went fine. Then he got word that mommy and daddy were coming to a knocking in the pirate ports to look for their missing son, so he hopped aboard the first crew he could find that was leaving town, and wouldn't you know it? He gets captured. Like immediately. Luckily there's this guy, Lio, on board who managed to help him escape before things get too hectic and the parents caught up. From there it was a lot more bouncing, a few more encounters with Lio on various crews (and even fewer encounters with the law, thank his lucky stars), and eventually, a realization. He was getting older. His body was rather enthusiastic about letting him know this, as past the age of thirty he began to struggle with an illness that left his joins locked stiff and occasionally swelling painfully. When he heard that Lio was putting together a crew he came along, hoping that he could make enough money to safely retire under a captain he knows and trusts
Other: He's got early-onset rheumatoid arthritis.
