Ace rolled his eyes playfully. “I’m always lucky. And plus, all we would have to do is take a metal detector and go beeep beeep,” He mimicked holding the detector, sweeping it over the water.
Cassy raised an eyebrow and held out her hand pointing at him, "beeeeeeeeep, would you look at that, my dork detector is going off."
Raena rolled her eyes. "Shut up, we get it, you're all adorable," she called, flipping onto her back to rest for a while.
Cassy stomped her foot causing large splashed directed towards Raena, "I'm not adorable!" she huffed, crossing her arms.
Raena scoffed, flinching ever so slightly. "Yeah, right. That's just not true. You're just wrong, and there's nothing else to it," she said simply.
Ace blushed, rolling his eyes. “Whatever,” he playfully shoved Cassy’s shoulder, before turning towards the other girl, a smirk in place. “I agree Raena, she is adorable,” he called out.
"See, Cassy? The consensus says you're adorable. The consensus is never wrong," she told Cassy with a smile.
Finch smiled slightly and looked up at Jidhr. "Thanks. You're pretty great too." What Finch said wasn't close to a lie.
Jidhr smiled back, looking down to the sand for a moment before returning his gaze to Finch. "Thanks."

Finch nodded then looked back down at the sand and continued making small designs in the sand quietly.
Jidhr watched him silently, occasionally looking back out to the lake where Cassy and Ace were…doing whatever they were doing. He didn't really mind them too much, his attention mostly on Finch.

Finch after awhile got up. "I'm going to go for a walk… Want to come with me?" He asked quietly.
"Yeah." Jidhr nodded, standing with him. As much as he liked the others, sometimes it was good to get away from all that.

Finch nodded and started walking down the beach with Jidhr.
Jidhr walked in stride with him, looking at the ground most of the time but looking up to Finch from time to time.

Finch looked ahead and at the ground. He was silent. He didn't really know if or how to start a conversation.
"How've you been?" Jidhr finally asked, turning his head to Finch.

"Bored. But fine… What about you?" He asked and looked at Jidhr.
Jidhr shrugged a little. "Also fine. A little sad, but that's usual, and probably too dreary to talk about."

"Um alright I guess. So uh what have you been doing lately?" Finch asked and looked over at the water.
"I've…I've been doing a lot of sitting around," Jidhr admitted. "Not being very productive. You?"

Finch nodded before answering. "I've been reading inside my room or sitting on the roof reading. Not very interesting I guess."
"More interesting than what I've been doing," Jidhr replied with a shrug.
"See, Cassy? The consensus says you're adorable. The consensus is never wrong," she told Cassy with a smile.
Cassy mumbled something about life being unfair, before giving Ace one more solid push into the lake and stomping out of the water. She reached the shore and began ringing out her curly hair, "This 'Adorable' person can still take you down Ace."

"More interesting than what I've been doing," Jidhr replied with a shrug.
"I guess." Finch said and nodded. Then pushed him into the water.
Jidhr spluttered and swam to the surface, grinning nevertheless. "Excuse you," He said with a laugh, grabbing Finch's hand and pulling him in with him.

"Hey!" He said and fell into the water.
Jidhr laughed a little. "You pushed me first."

"I didn't expect you to pull me in." Finch laughed then pushed Jidhr away jokingly.
"Yeah, well, now we're even," He said with a grin, dark brown eyes almost sparkling a little as he looked over at Finch.

Finch nodded and looked away from him then went back to the land. He never was good at swimming.
Jidhr followed him, wringing his shirt out and standing. "Sorry."
