Oscar stood on the sidewalk in front of the orphanage, debating whether or not he was ready for parental responsibilities. His decision to adopt the most difficult child was highly questionable from others points of view, but not to him.
He straightened his tie (for he had just clocked out at his workplace) and headed up the front steps. He rang the buzzer and waited.
