Peggy wrapped her scarf around her neck and grinned. She was going to go dancing tonight – she didn't care what her parents said.
Carlina slipped around the corner, laughing as she started to run. "I will see you tomorrow, mother! Don't miss me so soon!" She called over her shoulder, ready to go meet people. Finally, a night to herself, by herself, free as a bird!

Peggy grinned and arrived at the club. Her lips were the color of red wine and pulled into a smile when she entered. In several moments, she was on the dance floor, twirling and laughing.

Nykidia got dressed into her work outfit. She sighed. While everyone was going to be dancing she was going to be working at the bar. She got dressed into the dress. She hated dresses. She would much rather be wearing a suit but that would never happen.

Jazzy music surrounded Peggy, lifting her spirits. She twirled from boy to boy until–
"Hello, love," a smooth voice whispered in her ear.
She grinned even wider. "Robert," she replied as he placed a kiss on her lips.
"Shall we dance?"
"But of course."

Nykidia grabbed her satchel and headed out the door. She got a lot of cat calls on the street on her way to work. She hated how she had to wear this short dress. She got to the entrance of the club and flashed a smile to the bouncer. He knew she worked here and let her in.

Maria flashed her ID at the bouncer, and he let her in grudgingly. She was here strictly on work business; Maria worked as one of the managers of the club, and the least liked because of liking rules a little too much. I just wish I was back home with Frances, she thought to herself.

Nykidia started working at the bar. Getting drinks for people, making small talk, trying to ignore drunks and cleaning glasses. She sighed. She wished she could be out there dancing but instead she was here cleaning and making drinks.

Maria went through the Staff Only door, and hung up her coat and hat. Dusting off her hands, she went to see if the barmaid needed any help. Sticking her head out of the door, she made she could hear her. "Hey! You need any help out there?"

Nykidia jumped when someone asked if they needed help. "Uhh…Sure!" She said. It was happy hour and she did need help.
Carlin smiled as she slid through a back window into some club. "Perfect." She whispered, going out to dance.

Maria smiled at the girl. "Great!" She was grateful for the distraction from her work. Beginning to take drink orders, she filled them quickly. A barmaid was her first position at the club, and then she slowly grew in an incredible amount of time.

"Really? I've never seen you before." Nykidia said as she fixed up a drink for a young man. Maybe I could talk to her about this dress. No! She couldn't do that. This girl is one of the managers! What would she think of one of the bar girls wore guy clothing.

The song ended and everyone clapped. Peggy was out a breath, but her smile was brighter than ever. She approached the other girl. "Want to sit the next one out for a drink?" she asked. "My treat."
"Yes, ma'ma, if I'm not interrupting anything." She said politely, smiling.

Peggy laughed. "Oh, you're fine. This dolt can find something to do to entertain himself," she said, nudging Robert and grinning.

"I don't come to the bar too often, since only I do the bills for the club," Maria shrugged, cleaning a glass. Taking another order, she slid a beer across the bar, winking at the young man who grabbed it.
