Cruz peeled open his eyes, which were drifting shut with sleepiness. He looked back up to the screen to read her response, lungs hesitating to enjoy the moment of brief, small exhileration she brought. He knew the addicting adrenaline would be amplified when he saw her today.

happy easter. How'd you sleep?

@blue_topaz

Fae felt herself smiling dopily as she read the text.

Pretty good., she lied. You?
Excited for the Fair?

@KalamariCakes

terrified.

He answered, though he was smiling a little.

@blue_topaz

Fae blinked as she read the text.

?, was all she wrote, heart hammering.

@KalamariCakes

never been before. I have no clue what its going to be like

Oh, and the fact he was going with a girl. Which he liked. A lot. But was nonsensically too stubborn to admit for now, even though every marker of his body language betrayed his attempt for secrecy.

@blue_topaz

Grace flutered over to peek at Fae's screen, grinning cheekily when she saw who it was and waving the others over.

What do you think I'm going to do to you? shoot you? shove you off a high ride?

She texted jokingly, inwardly adding I'm scared too. Could this technically be considered a date? Macha would be there too, but knowing Macha, she would find some way to make sure Fae and Cruz were left alone together.

@KalamariCakes

no. I'm terrified of heights.

He admitted, breathing out a quiet, embarrassed laugh to interrupt the silence of his grey-painted room.

that was hard to admit. Lol.

@blue_topaz

no worries, then. we don't need to go on the rides. there's plenty more to do, don't worry.

@KalamariCakes

o, i'll go. I'm no wimp he insisted. Of course Cruz had to keep up his "strong" resolve for self-confidence's sake. Well, at least his stubbornness would only pave way for an amusing moment of facing his fears.

@blue_topaz

Fae shook her head, smiling. Boys., she thought to herself.

suit yourself. There's lot's of candy and a parade comes through with floats. i think you'll like it., she texted back.

@KalamariCakes

awesome. I should get ready, brb. he excused himself, setting his phone facedown on his nightstand while, in a rush of energy, rolled out of bed and lifted up his arms in a full stretch and huge yawn.

@blue_topaz

Fae shot Grace and the small crowd of eager dragons an exasperated look as she set her phone down. "You guys are impossible, you know that? He's not my boyfriend." Grace batted her eyes coyly, and Fae rolled her eyes with a grin, checking the time. Macha'll be here in about half an hour., she thought. Boy, will she flip when she finds out about this.

@KalamariCakes

Cruz headed towards his dresser and noisily sliding his drawers open to fish out his outfit, deciding on a close-fitting black shirt and a leather jacket and jeans. Once he was clothed, he snatched up his comb off the mess atop his dresser and drew a couple careless draws through his locks.

Well… maybe he should put a little more effort into his appearance…?
He'd never really put much effort into impressive outward appearances… but this was different…

@blue_topaz

Fae re-brushed her hair, for the fourth time, anxiously pacing up and down. It was almost ten, Macha should be here at any moment. "Oh god…", she muttered. "What if he doesn't like me?"

@KalamariCakes

Ohhh! Please guys, listen to my absolute favorite song right now: To Build A Home by Cinematic Orchestra! So beautiful :') ))

Cruz looked at himself, thinking aloud in a snide mutter. "I look like Elvis Presley." He mumbled. But despite this, and for the sake of his own amusement, he looked back in his narrow human-sized wall mirror and tried the provacative signature hip dance. Then proceeded to gag at himself.

XD ))

@blue_topaz

Fae sighed, bringing out her lip gloss and applying a light layer on her lips. She felt for the buttons on the back of her blouse, groaning a little when she couldn't quite reach them. Thalia, a purple and brown dragon on four legs flew over, brushing Fae's hair aside to do them up and fasten the clasp. "Thanks, Tallie.", Fae said, plonking a kiss on the dragon's slim snout. "How do I look?"

@KalamariCakes

Cruz slipped his feet into his white keds, glancing one last time at his reflection. He drew a big breath, and headed out of his room, hands in his pockets.

@Natasha

Sabine devoured her food. Her dad chuckled. "The fair will still be there when you're done, Sabine." Sabine smiled. "I know Papa. But I need to get there early. I volunteered for a charity event that the hospital is holding."

@blue_topaz

(@Natasha ooohhhh! Fae is actually taking some of the kids to the Fair late in the afternoon, but I'm probably gonna just skip over it and to the next day)

"Where are all the boys?", Fae asked Tallie, referring to the dragons. Thalia gestured in a vague way towards the small garden and the bakery with her tail, which Fae took to mean that they were playing around outside and enjoying the sudden change in weather, or eating in the bakery's kitchen. She glanced at the mirror one last time, tugging at the flowy sleeves of her blouse was turning to head downstairs, when a familiar face poked her head into her room, grinning broadly. "Macha!", Fae exclaimed happily, running forward to embrace her friend. "Fae!", Macha greeted excitedly, long white hair sweeping in front of her huge gold eyes. Fae's arms ached slightly from when they'd collided with Macha's smooth stone skin, a shade of grey so pale it was almost white, but she payed them no mind. "Excited for the Fair?", she asked. "Obviously!", Macha replied with a flick of her huge grey wings. "Crazy what happened at your job yesterday, you okay?", she added. Fae had called Macha the previous night, but had neglected to mention anything about her feelings for Cruz, only that he would be tagging along. She nodded, tugging at her blouse again. "You think I should've worn a skirt?", she asked, nervous. "No, it's not warm enough for that yet. Nice hair, by the way. Very chic." Macha tilted her head, grinning cheekily. "So, this Croose boy," she started. "Cruz.", Fae corrected, smiling despite herself. "Cruz. Do you think he'll like your outfit?". Macha batted her eyelashes as Fae blushed crimson. "Macha!" Fae swatted her friend, her face red. "Aha! So you do like him!", Macha teased, dodging Fae's hand. "When's the wedding? Am I invited?"

"Macha!", Fae yelled, still blushing. "It's not like that, I—"
"Is he cute?", Macha cut her off, guessing the truth with a grin. Fae's cheeks turned a darker shade of red. "No! I swear! I– He– I don't–", Fae buried her face in her hands, secretly enjoying this game. She bit her lip. "He's really cute.", she almost squeaked, her whole face red now. Macha broke into an even larger grin, jumping in the air with a cry of victory. "I KNEW IT!! How old is he? Do you have his number? Did he text you this morning?", Macha said, leaning closer on the last question. Fae blushed. Again. "He's 18 in a few days, yes, and….. yes.", she was unable to stop a huge, goofy grin from spreading across her face. "Fae! He's too old for you!", Macha yelled teasingly. "Wait— HE ALREADY TEXTED YOU???!!!!!!!", she squealed, jumping up and down on Fae's bed and making kissing noises. "Macha!", Fae yelled again, doubling over with laughter. Macha collapsed on the bed as well, shaking as she overflowed with giggles. The two girls lay there for a while, breathing hard and grinning from ear to ear. "When are we meeting him again?", Macha asked, getting up. "In about an hour and a half.", Fae replied, bringing out an elastic band. "Want me to French braid your hair?", she asked, Macha nodding enthusiastically.

As Fae twisted Macha's waist-long white hair into a French braid, Macha suddenly became quiet. "Sorry I'm not wearing anything nice.", she apologized. "Papa was going to buy me my first dress, but his work stopped paying him as much, so we didn't have the money." Fae could sense how upset Macha was. "No worries!", she replied, finishing off the braid with a secretive smile and running over to her closet. She pulled out a gorgeous white skirt, just past knee-length, with little gold flowers along the bottom, embroidered onto the flowy, silky fabric. "Suprise!", Fae exclaimed, holding it out to Macha as she stared in shock. "You're giving this to me? But it's brand-new!" Fae laughed, coming over. "Don't be silly, of course I am! Happy Easter!" Macha's smile stretched across her face, her eyes glowing with happiness. "Thank you…", she whispered stroking the fabric.

@KalamariCakes

Fae's phone loghtly interrupted the atmosphere with a notification, Cruz having texted her, heya, i'm on my way to the place… where dya want me to meet you again he asked, his lack of proper punctuation seemed to be a running motif with him.

Though he was much more adept at concealing his wild thoughts than Fae, per se, he was worrying about how she'd respond to him.

And yes. He was wearing that maroon hat she gave him, even if he had insisted it was ugly.

@blue_topaz

(I'm skipping forward to about 20 t0 12:00)

FAe glanced at her phone as she and Macha ran out the door, waving to her parents.

North end of Main Street, by the Horseman's Pub., she texted back. We're on our way. Nerves gripped her, and she looked at Macha for support, the warm spring air sharpening her senses as Pascal landed on her shoulder with Zoe and Gareth.

@KalamariCakes

Okay)

Cruz walked the mostly short distance from his current position, choosing a flat space of the wall to lean his shoulders against and keep his eyes out for her face and form.

@blue_topaz

Fae and Macha walked quickly, the weather pleasantly warm, chatting happily about the dance lessons Macha was going to start taking the following week, and about Fae's upcoming audition for her studio's annual play. "Is it going to be a musical this year?", Macha asked. "Yup! The Greatest Showman, you know, the one we went to see together? I'm auditioning to be Anne, the trapezist girl.", Fae commented, the heady aroma of blooming flowers drifting about in the air. "There he is!", she exclaimed, spotting Cruz and waving like a maniac while Macha grinned suggestively at her.

@Natasha

Sabine sat on the roof of a building, waiting for the charity event to start. She noticed that the teen that had helped her yesterday was walking up to the boy she had been with, her arm linked with another girl who looked slightly familiar to Sabine.

@KalamariCakes

Cruz lifted his eyebrows, then his cheeks in a broad, curlish and attractively crooked smile. "Hey," he spoke, his brief welcome a rush of breath. He pressed his foot off the wall to approach her. Locks of his chestnut hair peeked from under the hat she let him borrow, chocolate eyes taking in her decorated appearance. "You look.. nice." He pointed out lightly.

@blue_topaz

Macha nudged Fae with her toe, as if to say I told you so., Fae's heartbeat speeding up at the sight of his incredibly attractive smile "Thanks!", she replied, successfully keeping the stammer out of her voice. "You too. Cruz, I'd like you to meet Macha, Macha, Cruz.", she introduced as Macha stepped forward to shake his hand as if Fae had not told her anything about him, her long skirt swishing elegantly around her legs. Fae could tell that Macha was praying he didn't draw attention to her unusual skin, cracked slightly around the eyes.

@KalamariCakes

He brought a hand out from his leather jacket pocket to firmly shake Macha's hand, "Nice to meet you," he responded, doing his best to pay no mind to the shade and texture. "You guys friends?" He guessed, tucking some hair inside his hat.

@blue_topaz

"Oh, yeah.", Macha replied before Fae could even open her mouth. "I'm already planning her future wedding! We practically llive together!", she joked, shooting Fae a teasing glance.

@blue_topaz

(nice profile pic! I listened to the song you recommended, it was beautiful!)

@KalamariCakes

Ahhh i knowww! :D i love that song so much. The lyrics make me cry a little xD ))

His eyes flickered quickly to Fae at the mention of wedding, "Yeah?" He laughed, undertones accented with anxiousness.
