"I am doing research," he took a mental note to talk to Max about girls later. They confused him a lot. "I am confused because you could have any guy you wanted and you would be willing to undergo an unnecessary burden." He sighed, "I got breakfast," He changed the subject.

James nodded and walked away from Darcie wordlessly as he went back up the stairs, breakfast in hand.

Amanda smiled against the kiss. 'He's a good kisser'

Max brushed her hair out of her face. He deepened the kiss.

James put a hand on the doorknob but paused. He thought about everything, Darcie, he smiled and laughed, why did his face feel warm? He thought about school and what Amanda was going to do about him skipping, he thought about breakfast. Breakfast he had things to do.

His hand grazed Amanda's face and she held his hand on her jawline and bit his lip
