Brella nodded and went back to work, not humming this time. Without looking up, she spoke, "My mother tried to sacrifice me to the gods, and my sister she was about to sell off. I realized very quickly that the gods they spoke of weren't the gods they worshipped. So I abandoned them, and took Elizia with me, till she was old enough to handle herself. From then on, I've been dealing in everything from charity work to illegal arms enhancements." She turned a laser driver a tad bit to the left, reconnecting the sensors to Mitchell's nervous system, "Done! On the topic of legality, this isn't technically legal, but most guards will mistake it for an added processor. Besides, I imagine you'll be using this to avoid guards in the first place. Give it a shot."

Mitchell beamed, activating the cloak. He vanished instantly and completely, and let out a small gasp in delight. "This is awesome!" He said.

@Mr.Misfit

Brella smiled as Mitchell reacted to his newfound ability. It made her happy to see good people react to her work. She didn't always do things for good people.

"Alright, everything seems to be in working order. Let me know if anything seems to be acting up. Your system is…unique, so I imagine there may be a small glitch here or there. But it'll serve you well."

"Yeah, it's made of bits and pieces of different things," he said, gesturing to a small button on the side. "I stole parts from ConTech and made a small pipe where I can release tear gas. I was supposed to sell it for a customer, but they didn't want to pay up before I delivered it, so I kept it for myself."

@Mr.Misfit

"Impressive!" Brella answered, "We ought to be headed elsewhere now, before pur friends see us in orbit and wonder why we're such easy targets. May I recommend the other side of New Arcadia? Unless you want to see the other star systems?"

"Wherever you want to go, I'm cool with anything. Preferably somewhere peaceful, though."

@Mr.Misfit

"Kas'ni, Frisea! ("Alright, Darling!" in lovuthan) Of we go to New Arcadia's Mechanist district!"

With that, she hopped into the pilot's seat and plotted a slow burn back down to the planet.

He got up from the chair following her. "Huh. I've never piloted anything before," he said, curious. "Come to think of it, I've never traveled in any sort of ship."

@Mr.Misfit

Without answering, Brella gunned the port side thrusters, angling them so the ship went into a barrel roll to the right, sending a sickening feeling of vertigo through the occupants, though the gravity of the ship kept them routed to the deck.

He felt his stomach flip and bit his lip hard to keep himself from screaming in fear. "What the hell?" he said, confused.

@Mr.Misfit

Brella wheeled around in her chair, letting the ship level out on it's own, "That is how I like to illustrate the first rule of piloting: Know her well. Last time I tried that, she didn't have the hull reinforcements she does now. She nearly split herself in two. Now? She handles it like a champ. I knew she would," she gave the co-pilot's seat a pat, "Come on and sit. This'll be my first time with a co, but it should be simple enough."

He reluctantly crept over and slid into the seat, not knowing what exactly to do.

@Mr.Misfit

"Alright, I'm going to hand control to manual, and that means us," Brella said, flipping a few switches and pressing a button on the dash, "And now we learn how to fly. Most systems are designed to account for…" She trailed off as she heard a beeping on the panel next to her. She looked down, touched a button and looked back up, "Ignore that. So, take these two sticks here…."

He grabbed the sticks, but glanced over at the button Brella had pressed. "What was that?" he asked, curious and slightly worried.

@Mr.Misfit

"It's nothing. At least, nothing we need to be worried about yet. Now, the left stick is your planer movement:omnidirectional movement across your current plane. Now the right one…" Once again, the beeping started up, and Brella looked down once more. The same panel, the same flashing red buttons. Without a word she took her own handles and pulled back on both.

All at once the ship backed up and tilted down just in time to avoid the two missiles now whooshing by in front of them.

Mitchell, for some reason, had the urge to duck, so he did. His bionic arm whirred, and he turned to Brella. "What was that??"

@Mr.Misfit

"That was two missiles missing us," answered Brella, already twisting at the controls, "How much do you wanna bet that'll work twice?"

She brought the ship into a nose dive facing the planet, pushing the left stick as far forward as she could.

He quickly threw his hair up in a bun and held himself in place. "Holy shit," he said, feeling his stomach drop. He went pale at the feeling of the ship doing crazy things. Why didn't he just stay on Earth?
