“Oh shoot-“ she quietly cursed under her breath as she was yanked up by him. She quickly ran her hands through her hair, smoothing it back into place after it had been roughed up by Bryson.
Paige pushed the door open and looked at them. "Um… Brys , since Mom's not here, I just wanted to tell you that I'm going out."
Roxy swung her legs over the side of the bed, and continued to twirl her hair around her fingers. She looked between Bryson and Paige, waiting for their conversation to continue.
"Where?" Bryson demanded.
"Why does it matter?" Paige retorted. "I'm old enough to go out on my own, okay?"
"No. Not okay," Bryson argued.
Paige frowned before turning and walking away. Her phone and wallet were both noticeably in her hand.
"Paige!"
Roxy leaned forward and called out, “Paige wait! Listen to your brother… He just wants to take care of you, okay?” She stared after Paige, hoping she would stop and listen to Bryson.
