"Oh, that's good," James replied glad to be clear of that conversation.
Running Scared
She nodded and walked through some more trees before finally approaching a small blue building
James spotted the building and nodded, "I take it that's the building?"
She nodded " you know you don't have to come with me if you don't want to " she said
"I don't feel comfortable leaving you in there alone," James eventually responded trying to choose his owrds carefully.
" I've been in thete hundreds of times " she said
"I, I know," James replied once more, "But I would like to come in with you."
She sighed, closing her eyes " okay " she said
James hesitated for a moment, "Is that fine with you?"
She nodded making her way to the diner
James followed after Rebecca into the diner.
she smiled softly
James looked around the diner studying the atmosphere and such.
Rebecca made it over to her usual table and sat down
James didn't know what else to do and ended up sitting down across from Rebecca.
" look I appreciate you coming to hang out with me check up on me whatever you wanna call it but I'm fine I love the company but I imagine your busy you are a king after all so honestly if you don't want to you don't have to keep coming to see me" she said
"And if I do want to keep coming to see you?" James asked her.
"Why would you want to?" She asked
"It's a nice break from my day to day," James responded quite simply, "Being king isn't all you think it is, especially when I've been doing it for so long."
" but I knew when you married me you were going to toss me away to the side" she said
"It's⦠Difficult to explain," James decided after some time of thought, "You were never going to be simply tossed away, just never my biggest priority."
" but you see I thought you would because I was convinced every guy was a shallow soulless waste if space who only hurt girls like me" she said
"What? No!" James replied seeming almost offended she had thought so little of him, "I would never do that."
" I know it's just glued in my brain " she said
"Well, I suppose I'll just have to unglue it," James said after a moment of thought.
" you're the only guy who's ever actually acted like they cared about me "
"I, well that's unexpected," James had nothing else to really say about the matter.
she shrugged throwing her hands in her lap
James tapped his fingers on the table unsure of what was going to happpen next.
she sighed softly closing her eyes
