She nodded stepping into the room and maneuvering so she was behind him m and turned to look at him " Thank you" she said politely pulling her hands behind her back but immediately retreated after getting a shooting pain from her left shoulder down her arm
Running Scared
James could also feel an empathetic pain but brushed that notion of quickly. He gave a nod and set the tray of food down on one of the side tables, "Your welcome. Goodbye." He turned around and began to exit the room.
She sighed and looked at the room the walls were a wine color there was a white bed witg Black drapes there were white long curtains over the large windows there was a white vanity by one of the walls and there was a white sliding barn door which led to a walk in closet and there was a black solid door that lead to the bathroom.
James let the door shut behind him and stood there for a moment wondering why he felt so strange about leaving the girl only. He shook it off and decided to go to the library and do some reading to see if he could identify his current situation with this girl.
Rebecca walked around the room before sitting on the bed and running her hands through her hair but pulled back due to the pain her body "Damn Braxton" she muttered under her breath
(Should we skip?)
( yeah)
(Okay, I can start.)
James had spent most of the night in the library and by dawn, he had his answers. Who would have guessed that a dumb little human girl would have been mate? The one that would grant him the power he so desired. He had one of the staff send Becca a request order to meet with him for breakfast even though he wouldn't be eating anything. It was at least a courtesy he could extend to her.
Rebecca dressed in clothes she wore the day before, because she had no other clothing, was escorted into the dining room of the castle and quite literally forced her to sit down.
James arrived in the dining room that went largely unused do to the owners condition. He sat down at the other end of the long table and saw how the girl was still dressed in peasant drab, that would be the first thing on his list of things he needed to do, "Good morning Rebecca."
" G-Good Morning" she stuttered nervous and a little scared of the interaction between herself and the vampire king
"I hope you slept well," James told her his voice never changing infliction. One of the staff brought out a plate of food and placed it in front of Rebecca, "We have some… Things to discuss."
Rebecca looked down at the food, she didn't want to be rude and not eat, but due to past encounters she was scared to eat. She looked back at James '"okay" she said simply
James watched her a moment in silence. He was resting his hands on the table and began to tap them ever so softly and gently, "You're not going to eat?"
"Oh It's just I don't fully trust you all and I've had a bad experience with… everything" she said with a sigh
"I understand," James nodded once more as he stayed in his seat. He thought for a moment, "Would it be better if one of my staff ate a bite of food from your plate?"
"No it's just my brother he'd beat me if I ate" she said looking back down at her plate
"Oh, well I'm not going to do anything like that," James waved at her as he relaxed into his seat, well relax is an extreme term for what was really just a small motion, "So feel free to eat, please."
" maybe later" she said pushing the plate back a bit " What is it you wanted to discuss?''
"A few things," James told her cryptically. He liked having a few cards to himself and eventually decided on what he was going to disclose to her first, "But first, do you have any questions for me? I'm sure you must have some given some of the… Rumors surrounding me and my court."
" since I was fifteen I've tried to stay away from all this so no I don't really know anything" she said
"I see," James paused as she spoke. The girl couldn't be much older than sixteen, seventeen, so it must not have been that long, and yet she knows nothing about him. Fascinating, "Then I suppose the first thing I should tell is that in exchange for me helping you, I will require you to do a task for me. Nothing difficult or life-threatening, I swear to you, however that is simply how I work. Knowing this, I already have a task for you, would you like to hear it?"
" first off I don't care who you are I won't do anything against my will I Will leave or you can kill me so sure what's the task" she said
"Respectable, but understand this task does require you to be willing," James told and after a dramatic moment of silence he, very bluntly, very simply, said to her, "Marry me. That's it. That's the task."
" I'm sorry What?" She asked with an arched broke bit believing what she just heard
"You heard me. Marry me," James repeated the words sounding strange saying them a second time. They had felt strange the first time, but they felt even weirder saying them again, "That is all I ask of you."
" look you don't know me so my guess is that I'm your mate and you need to marry me to gain full power?" She asked. " But your asking me to just marry you and I will never get to fall in love because I know you'll marry me then throw me away like garbage"
"Oh? And why are you so sure about that?" James' voice was filled with slight curiosity. That would be what happened, but she was curious as to where she got her information from.
