"Thank you," Quincy replied as she silently gestures for her brother to scram. It didn't take long for James to leave the room.
Running Scared
She sighed waiting for Quincy to life get shirt and look at the scars on her back
Quincy lifted up the back of Rebecca's shirt and traced lightly over the claw marks. She frowned as she thought about what they might mean for her.
She sighed softly as she felt Quincy's Icy cold fingers touch her scar, a memory of how she let her father down, the thing that started the abuse
Quincy removed her hand and let Becca's shirt fall before reaching for a book on how humans affected by the supernatural. As far as she could tell it was just a scratch mark, and it shouldn't interfere with the process of being turned. Maybe her family had some type of protection (curse) that would cause what Rebecca was going through. And if that was the case then what needed to happen wasn't going to be very pleasant, for Rebecca at least.
Rebecca coughed again, her throat starting to hurt " damnit I left my tea" she said in a raspy voice
"I can request for more if you want," Quincy told her starting to head towards the door thinking.
"Yeah some tea would be nice" she said with a soft smile
Quincy nodded, "I'll go request it then," she stepped outside. She spotted James and looked at him surprised, "You stayed? I thought you would've left."
"I, no, but how is she?" James asked.
"Why don't you ask her? I'm going to get her more tea," Quincy said so matter a factly as she left James with a decision to make.
Rebecca sighed pulling her shirt back on she winced at the pain in her throat and sat down trying to prevent herself from getting dizzy
James, after a moment's hesitation, entered the room with Becca. He coughed a little to tell her he was there, "Um, how are you?"
She looked at her m briefly before looking at the ground" fine" she said laying her arms over her lap so her elbows were resting on her knees
James nodded as he took a step twoardsher, "Um good. Good."
" you don't have to stay you can leave" she said looking up at him
"Oh, and what if I want to stay?" James asked her trying not to seem very coy.
She sighed " I'm fine you don't have to worry about me messing anything up" she said
"If I was worried about you messing something up, I wouldn't have let you roam my castle these last few weeks," James told her.
" Look I appreciate the hospitality but I'm.a girl who has dreams and now I know I can't have them I have a bit of attitude" she said
"I'm well aware of that," James replied eyeing her.
She nodded closing her eyes with a sigh as she ran her hands through her pitch black hair
James watched her as he let out a sigh, "But why did you bring it up again?"
"because I'm upset and I'm scared and I've got no friends to talk to and I love talking to Quincy and I miss having a family" she said mumbling the last part
"You enjoy talking to Quincy?" James said very clearly having heard the last bit though ignoring it.
" she's the only person to talk to we talk about everything" She said
"I, yes I see," James responded with a little nod. He wouldn't tell how Quincy would then tell James what they talked about.
She sighed lowering her head " I'm just all alone I don't have anyone not anymore " she sighed wiping her tears
"Well, you have Quincy don't you?" James didn't bother putting himself into that equation.
" she's only there because she has to be" she said
"I can't make Quincy do anything," James told Becca, "If she's there it's because she wants to be there."
" I thought maybe this wouldn't be so bad I thought I could warm up to this place but it isn't home and just because I'm marrying you doesn't mean you have to care I'll marry you regardless not like I have a choice anyway"
