Sanctuary High

Sanctuary High is a place for supernatural teenagers to get their high school educations to better prepare them for the human world. It consists of factions all seperated into different wings, with one Main Hall in the center where they all mill about together. Here, you can be anything. But beware, there's a major internal war in the Unseen side of the world. Hybrids, the illegitimate offspring of two different species, are looked down upon for their mixed blood. They can be more powerful and potentially dangerous, and there's a bit of trouble trying to figure out in what Wing to place them in school.

"Eugene!" I hear my name and whip around, my scarlet converse squeaking slightly on the hardwood floor. I was wearing a black hoodie that had a Looking for Alaska quote that read, 'when I die, bury me face down so the whole world can kiss my ass' and ripped boyfriend jeans, with my long wavy hair up in a bun. I was working the after-school shift at the cafe, and I was wearing a dark green apron on across my lap. "We need a double shot mocha latte over here, extra whip."
"No problem." I shout back and scamper across the shop, away from the girl I was talking to about her dog. I did almost everything. I took orders, I was a waitress, I made coffee, and I closed up on weeknights.

I started making the coffee, and then slid it across the counter at my best friend Jupiter, who put the whip cream on top and then a lid, then carried it off. The Cafe Across the Street worked something like a machine between me, Jupiter, and Sara the owner. It was clean and we all knew exactly what we did.

Jupiter Allen was a tall teenage boy who looked like sunshine and had a cloud hanging over his head constantly. He was dirty blonde and had the telltale bright red eyes of a Pureblooded vampire, so he was always wearing sunglasses to make things less awkward. He was lean and wore a dark green crew neck sweatshirt, with black jeans and converse to match. He could probably have any girl at Sanctuary High that they wanted, since they all tripped over him anyway, but he hung around either me or nobody, and refused to even show a little romantic interest in anyone. As far as I went, he'd been there as long as I could remember, and there was none of that 'he's my best friend but we're secretly in love' bullshit between us.

Myra walked to the coffee shop. She sat down at a table, after buying a medium hot cocoa. She hated coffee.

Myra took out her laptop, and logged onto the notebook.ai roleplaying forums. (4th wall, broken)

"Sure," I said to the tall teenage boy, seeing Jupiter stiffen in the back corner protectively out of the corner of my eyes. I swipe the bills off the counter and hand him his change, then put the order on the screen and print out a receipt. "There you are. The coffee should be done," I glance at my watch quickly, then at the order board, "in about 2 minutes."

I get right to making the coffees and slide them across the counter at Jupiter, like we always do. But he catches them stiffly and gives me a sharp look, mouthing 'shape shifter' and giving me a pointed look. I sigh and glare darkly, gesturing to myself. "I don't care." I mouth back. "We're all wierd."

Personality: Highly intelligent and logical, He's a huge nerd and reads books like textbooks and dictionaries for the fun of it, Quiet, Always thinks before he acts, Polite to his authorities, Doesn't really know how to react in social situations since most people don't act entirely logically.)

Jupiter sighs and puts a lid on them, setting them on the counter and going outside to give them to the tall teenage boy. I cross my arms and think about what Jupiter had said, and wondered why shape shifters were so dangerous. She was half archangel, she could see the truth in people attentions like colors on the air when they spoke, and had the heightened senses that came with it. Of course, her parents had her wings surgically removed when she was four and now she had big ugly scars on her back, but it was all part of the deal.

I hated to see other people react like that, especially from Jupiter. But he was old, ancient, even. He'd been alive since the rise of Rome and had been traveling the world as a vampire ever since. He settled down and met me here, and he's extremely protective. He was the first person I ever told about my so-called parents.

Myra sipped on her cocoa. She craved blood, but she couldn't kill someone, and she forgot to bring cow blood with her.

I glanced over at the new girl who'd slipped in quietly with her hot cocoa and noticed the black traceries of veins on her skin, giving away her vampire's thirst for blood. "Yo, Jupiter." He looks over and I point to the girl in the corner, and he nods. We kept a stash of cow blood in the back that we gave out for free, to prevent attacks on humans on the premises.

"Darn. My report go soaked." she said, after accidentally spilling her cocoa.

Jupiter gives the girl a cup of warm blood, hidden in a latte cup from the tourists. She puts her hands up trying to refuse.
"I don't like coffee, sir."
And then she seems to catch the smell of it and the black veins on her wrists embolden with her realization, her hunger clutching at her small, frail body. She takes the cup gratefully without Jupiter having to say anything and he comes back with a thoughtful look on his face.
I give him a triumphant glance. "We always knew I was the observant one."
He ruffles up my hair, pulling on my bun. "Yeah, but I'm the ancient one. Much, much smarter." He teases.
