Finally, she broke, her laughter pouring forth, weakened from the swelling but it had come down a good bit.

He smiled and kissed her cheek, “I love you so much,”

“I was,” he sniffed. “I don’t know the last time I slept for more than an hour. Probably after the first time it happened.”
“Are you okay?”
“I hope I am,” Cooper said quietly.

"I love you too." She smiled, glad her voice was coming back even though it was still kind of rough and strained.

He barely noticed the strain in her voice, her love sent a shock through him. He laid his head on her shoulder.

"Don't worry sugar, your pretty voiced princess will return, just give her a few more hours." She giggled.

Lillian tried to mentally push it down in her sleep, but she couldn't the memories taking over her dreams like an illness that wouldn't be cured.
