"Lane is a hacker, so, if you can infiltrate SHIELD and somehow gain her trust… You could convince her to get any file. I suppose." Teddy gave an unnaturally sweet smile.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Ahren's eyebrows twitched, but he nodded, filing the information away. "Alright. But my first duty is to get on the team. I should probably explain why I contacted you. See, I need a villain that they can take on. I can't utilize HYDRA, because it's too big for them. I personally would be easy for even just one of them to defeat, seeing as how my line of supersoldier isn't as strong as Jay's. Therefore, I need you."

"Don't use the word villain when referring to me." Teddy stated, nodding in response and taking his ordered coffee from a server. "Now," He sighed. "How are you going to get on the team Ahren?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Ah, sorry." Ahren apologized, taking his own coffee. "Right. I'm going to hack into the system, using the weakness I've already mentioned, and I'm going to put my name on the list. Then, wait." He shrugged a bit. "Also call some attention to myself."

"Hmm, sounds good." He stood up, nodding to Ahren. "Should I cause some trouble and you 'Stop it'?"

Jay smiled back, stepping through the entryway. Then she glanced at him. "Y'know, I could have gotten the door myself." She pointed out.

"Yeah, you could've," he agreed, walking in behind her and letting the door shut, "But my mama taught me that I should always hold the door open for women."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Ahren smiled. "That sounds good." He replied, taking a sip of his coffee. "Don't worry, I'll go easy on you." He chuckled softly.

Jay shrugged slightly. I'm…technically not a woman… "Ah. Well, at least she taught you manners."

"That, she did," he said.
There were three people in line, the first one being a middle aged women who squinted her eyes up at the menu and was speaking much louder than she should be. Klaus fell in line behind the 3rd, looking up and scanning the menu, as well.
"You wanted a burger, right? Any drinks?" he asked.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay stood beside him. "Yes. Cheeseburger." She replied, then shrugged. "I don't know. A Coke?" She was a supersoldier, she could probably have eaten her weight in food without gaining much, if any, weight. But she wasn't going to do that.

"How about some sweet tea?" he asked, stepping up when the woman finally got her order together. "Might not be as good as home-brewed, but it's still decent."

@ElderGod-Icefire

She hesitated, then shrugged. "Sure, I guess." She replied slowly. "I've never had it before, though."

"You've never had sweet tea?" Klaus said, giving her a surprised look. "I thought everyone in the world'd tasted sweet tea."

@ElderGod-Icefire

(i haven't either…)

Jay nodded, then shook her head. "Yes, I've never had sweet tea. No, not everyone in the world has." She replied, looking at him with traces of amusement on her face.

"You weirdo," he said, shaking his head. "You'll love it, though. Guaranteed."

(Well, I'm in the deep South, so it's just kinda a rite of passage)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(ahh that makes sense then lol)

She raised an eyebrow. "Mm, alright." She chuckled softly, hands still tucked in her pockets.

They reached the cahsier and Klaus ordered, "One Cheeseburger with ketchup and a sweet tea, and a 20 piece nugget, please."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay was quiet, merely watching the people in the McDonald's. She did this a lot when she went places. Just…people-watched. It was interesting, to see other people and what they were like.

He pulled his wallet out and slid a twenty dollar bill over to the cashier, telling her to "Keep the change," before turning back to Jay.
"It'll take a few minutes for our food to be here," Klaus said.

@ElderGod-Icefire

She blinked, looking at him. "Hmm? Oh, okay. That's fine." She gave him a smile, then kept looking around. There was something so…innocent in the way she was looking around. Innocent might not be the right word for what she looked like, but…definitely inexperienced. Out of place.

"You alright?" he asked, tilting his head. "You're lookin' around like you haven't been outside in years."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay blinked, looking at him. "Oh. I haven't, I guess. Except for missions, I don't get to leave SHIELD very often. They have to keep their clone on a tight leash." Her lips quirked in a small, almost sad smile.

"Well, I'm happy to help you get out of the house," he said, grabbing a medium cup and waving her over to the drink station.

@ElderGod-Icefire

She nodded, and followed him. "Mm. It's good to be out." She replied with a slight smile.

He got her a little bit of tea and offered it to her. "Just so we don't waste a whole cup if you don't like it, try it first.""

@ElderGod-Icefire

She took it, and took a small sip. "Hmm." She thought for a moment, then gave a small, quick smile. "That's actually pretty good."

"'Pretty good' is a fuckin' understatement," Klaus said, taking the cup back and filling it up with ice. "Go sit down. I'll bring the food over when it's ready."

@ElderGod-Icefire

She chuckled softly, and nodded, finding a table and sitting down. From there, she resumed her people-watching, resting her chin on her hand.

"It's rude to stare at people, you know," Klaus said when he walked over to the table, full cup in hand.

@ElderGod-Icefire

She jumped a little. "Huh? Oh. I'm not staring." She said, a little guiltily. "I'm just watching."
