Kaye nodded, a small smile crossing his features when he heard Simon say hopefully. Did that meet that they would possibly meet again? Part of him certainly hoped so.

Simone turned away before Kaye's infectious smile spread to his own face, raised a hand in farewell, and opened the front door. "See you soon, Kaye." And with that, he was gone.
(lol, I'm still thinking of this 'something.' Maybe it could be another fight or someone from either simon or kaye's past resurfaces? Any ideas?)
(maybe a fight with someone from one of their pasts? Someone to hint at either of their heritages? The person from their past gets drunk, sees them, is majorly pissed, etcetera?)

Kaye was back at the bar the next late afternoon, a time where the sun was already dipping behind the buildings. The bar's lights were a lot dimmer than the outside, and he had been in here long enough that he had gotten used to the strong cigarette scent and yelling among the other customers. So far, he hadn't seen Simon since yesterday morning, and to distract himself from watching the door for each person who walked in, he kept himself busy by talking to a cute, dark haired boy. Kaye wasn't paying them much attention…though he still managed to laugh at a few comments and add some jokes into the conversation.
Sunset came, basking the city in a warm glow and pulling a light veil of dusk behind it, and Simon found himself wandering the streets once more. He turned corner after corner, his feet carrying him down streets and past alleyways until they stopped in front of a bar that was all too familiar. He frowned at himself, placing the odd feeling in his chest as a strange longing to see Kaye again, and pushed open the door with a long sigh.
Kaye's joking mood seemed to come out around the other man, a broad grin crossing his face as it seemed like he was telling the other a joke. Though, halfway through it, he glanced up and noticed a head of blond curls emerge from the bar's doorway before a thoughtful frown took his smile away. Was that…Simon? Kaye watched Simon for a few moments before the dark haired man next to him pulled him back into the conversation, though he continuously glanced up towards the familiar form. Was he supposed to go and say hello?
Simon’s eyes flitted around the dim bar almost against his will, scanning for a familiar face. He immediately wished they hadn’t— in the brief second he’d glimpsed Kaye he’d seen him talking, maybe flirting, with a dark-haired man. Why do you care so much? he asked himself, shaking his head and approaching the bartender to order a drink.
Kaye's mouth made an 'o' shape when he saw Simon's gaze stop on his for a few moments, though he was careful not to let the man next to him notice. Should he go and talk to them? What would he even say? Perhaps Simon had just come here for a drink…not for an acquaintance that he had only talked to for a few hours. After a few moments of softly biting the small patch of his lip away from the stitches, Kaye excused himself from the other man and began to make his way towards Simon. His steps a little off balance from the drinks, though he wasn't close to drunk.
Out of the corner of his eye, Simon caught a glimpse of Kaye approaching him. He inhaled sharply, pretending he hadn’t noticed, and turned to the bartender. Kaye probably didn’t want to talk to him— he just wanted to order another drink. At least, that’s what he told himself. Even so, he placed his order with his back to the other man, inviting him to make the first move.
Kaye felt a little awkward as he continued to walk towards Simon, realizing that he had no idea what he was going to say. Instead, in order to compose himself, he ordered another drink as he ran a hand through his messy hair, going to through possible responses.
"Guess we finally crossed paths again, huh?" Kaye finally said as he covered up his nervousness with a light grin. He looked over towards Simon as he leaned against the wooden bar, trying to regain his usual flirty personality…though somehow Simon made it very hard for him to do so.
Simon’s eyes shifted sideways, and a surprisingly unguarded grin formed on his lips, lopsided and laid back. “Hey, Kaye,” he greeted, raising his hand in a small wave. The other man looked… handsome, he supposed, casually so, an appealing sight.
"Hey," Kaye echoed, a broader grin replacing his last smile when he realized that Simon didn't ignore him. "Mind if I sit?" He asked, tilting his head in question as the bartender brought his drink over to where the two men were.
“Not at all,” Simon returned with ease, though his stomach was currently twisting itself into a knot. “How are you?” he asked, taking his drink from the bartender and taking a small sip. “Still hungover?”
"No, not anymore. I got over it rather quickly," Kaye answered with a small shrug, though that was a lie– he almost threw up once Simon left…most of the alcohol coming up on it's own accord. "How was your walk home?" He asked, deciding to go along with the topic of small talk…something he could do without getting flustered.
Simon wasn’t sure whether there was a hint of untruth behind Kaye’s words, or if he was just paranoid. He took an experimental sip of his drink, the bittersweet taste coating his tongue. “Uneventful,” he said truthfully, his eyes flickering up and down the length of Kaye’s body.
Kaye nodded as he watched Simon, his cheeks heating up a bit under the other man's gaze, though he distracted himself by taking a sip from his drink. "So…so, why'd you stop by here again? To see Ashley?" He teased, jabbing his thumb towards his blonde haired friend who was serving a few people drinks. If Kaye had known and remembered what they had spoken about yesterday, he probably wouldn't have made that joke.
Simon smirked, casting the blond a brief glance. “Not tonight, no. I believe he’s taken with another man, I came here tonight for another reason.” He took another sip of wine before he could say too much, his eyes trained on Kaye and Kaye only. He felt oddly…. flirty, almost. Willing to take risks.
"Another reason, huh?" Kaye asked with a testing look, a grin tugging the corner of his lips upwards in an attempt to keep himself looking composed. Under Simon's gaze…he felt oddly open, and didn't want the other man to know too much yet.
“Mm, another reason.” He raised an eyebrow, almost teasingly, surprised at how casual he was acting. For once, he was in good spirits, untroubled by his past and his train wreck of a brain. “Care to guess?”
"Because you…like the alcohol here?" Kaye asked, his brows drawing together in thought as he glanced around the bar, tucking a strand of messy hair behind his ear. He knew that Simon was playing with him, though he didn't really know what to guess.
"Or is it someone here? Maybe him?" Kaye asked with a lopsided grin and chuckle, as he pointed towards a dark, curly haired man near them.
Simon rolled his eyes, though the movement wasn’t harsh. “No, not to see him,” he declined, allowing his eyes to travel over Kaye’s form. “Although, I have to admit, the alcohol here is excellent.”
Kaye nodded with a small hum as he glanced towards his drink, feeling his cheeks flush faintly when Simon looked over him. The last thing he wanted was for Simon to see him blush…that would ruin what was left of his pride. "Well, who is it then?" He asked with a testing look.
Simon felt an odd satisfaction at the sight of the faint pink spreading over Kaye’s cheeks, though he wasn’t quite sure why. “I came,” he said slowly, taking his time, “To be honest, I can’t hopikg you were here. So I could thank you. For this morning. Breakfast, letting me sleep over, letting me use your bath, etcetera. So, thank you.”
"Hey, I was the drunk one. I should be thanking you," Kaye answered, knowing that if it wasn't for Simon then he probably would have either collapsed or never made it home in the first place. "But, it's no problem," he added taking a small sip from his drink before a question he had been waiting to ask popped into his head.
"What did we talk about when…you were at my house. I don't remember anything." Kaye honestly hoped he didn't say anything too embarrassing, though he wanted Simon to be honest with him.
Simon hesitated, his fingers stalling on the rim of his glass. A faint pink, barely noticeable, unfurled across his cheeks, but he leveled a gaze at Kaye and spike steadily. “The details are hazy in my mind.. but I think I remember you asking me about Ashley. You looked jealous, I asked if you were, and you replied in the affirmative. Then I asked you who you were jealous of…..” Here he paused, inhaling softly. “You said Ashley.”
Kaye listened to Simon, biting on his lip nervously and wincing visibly when he brushed against his stitches. "Jealous of Ashley?" He repeated, though he didn't deny the fact that he had been that night. And when he heard that Simon was no longer interested in Ashley, he had to admit that it made him feel strangely satisfied.
"Well, what was your response…or your response now?" Kaye asked, feeling a little awkward and out of place, as if he didn't know what he could say without making a mistake.
