Backstory: Her mother is the queen but Racheal doesn't want to be the queen of mermaids so she abandons all her classes to do other things.
Other: No one knows this because she makes excuses for not doing it but she can't sing. It's really bad.

First she was in the ocean and someone was covering her mouth. Then she was in the net. Then she was on the deck (howdidshegetoutofthenet) And then she was singing through a megaphone. If there was a megaphone, it would probably be in the cabins or BELOW DECK.

Lyra turns into a human and walks below deck to the megaphone

And even if she did get in the net, if the human were distracted by the sirens singing, how would they get lyra on the deck and out of the net. because only mary-sues can do that shit.
