She's probably the most trustworthy one here, in the eyes of an outsider looking in," Donatella said.

Donatella exhaled in relief. "Okay. Better." She held her hands out in front of her as she spoke, and she went from holding them tensely, fists closed, to opening her hands palm-down and having a more relaxed spread in her fingers.

She smiled halfheartedly as they offered her something to eat and drink.
