"Laughing at me?! Why?!!?!?" Tiffany pretended to be offended.

"You're so ticklish, it's funny!" Camie justified.

Tiffany squinted, then flopped back dramatically on top of her bestie. "Who's laughing now, huh?"

Camie gasped, a giggle accidentally escaped her lips.

"Ha!"

"Ug, please get off. You're sitting on my spleen."

Tif rolled off her friend dramatically, laying right beside her. "I repeat, are you hungry too?"

"I don't even know where the spleen is… Yeah, sure!"

"You think you're soooo funny, don't you?" Tiffany asked sarcastically as she pulled herself up and held her hand out for Camie.

"I'm hilarious. Just admit it Tiff. You think that I'm funny." Camie took her friend's hand gratefully.

Tiffany grudgingly agreed. "Yes Peaches, I think you're hilarious."

Camie grinned. "Thank you."

Tiffany stuck out her tongue playfully as she started for the ladder.

Camie waited to climb down. "So what are we going to pillage?"

"The chocolate stache? Or maybe the freezer and it's I've cream?" Tiffany suggested as she got to the bottom.

"Whatever's cool with you," Camie said, beginning her descent.

Tiffany shrugged. "Okay."

Camie's sneakers hit the ground. "Lean on mon amie!"

Tiffany laughed as she started for the back door.

Camie followed. "This stinks. I'm probably stepping on so many fireflies right now…"

"…..thanks for that wonderful though Peaches." Tiffany said sarcastically as she opened the door.

"What?! It's true. The truth hurts. Just like those poor fireflies right now."

Tiffany rolled her eyes as she walked inside.

Camie snickered and followed Tiffany through the halls.

Tiffany stopped when she heard shouting from the kitchen. "…….WHAT'S BEST FOR THE KIDS!!!"
"I DON'T CARE!!! I'M NOT LEAVING THEM HERE WITH YOU!!"
"Margret, they have friends! And lives! You can't just uproot them!"
"OH, LIKE YOU'RE UPROOTING OUR MARRIAGE?!?!"
"Margret stop yelling the kids will hear!"
Tiffany's hand was frozen over the doorknob.

Camie put a hand to her mouth. "Oh my gosh… Tiff, let's go," she said, firmly wrapping an arm around Tiffany's shoulders and directing her away.

Tiffany let Camie lead her away.

"Wait until we get to the tree house okay?" Camie tried to bed easy but her voice was shaking. "You know what, we can get food later, okay?"

Tiffany nodded, tears welling in her eyes. "Okay."

As soon as they got into the tee house, Camie hugged Tara tightly. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry…"
