Spring had finally broken through, scaring away the winter chill. Flowers were blooming, the birds were chirping, and everything seemed happier. Well, at least in nature that was. Outside of the trees, the forests, the parks, was reality. People were bustling their way to work, always on their phones or taking a call. Few actually spoke to each other in person like the civilized people they were. But it was spring, so there were many that had high hopes and were beginning anew. Though there was just as many with crushed dreams and hopes. Such as students who were getting ready for finals and doing everything they could to pass their classes but pesty teachers being butts and not allowing them to make up work. But that was the world. It's not right, but that's the way it is. Until you meet your soulmate of course, then everything changes. It's like the whole world stops, and it's just the two of you when you meet. Most people can't wait for the day they meet their soulmate, though there are few who dread it. With spring here, many are excited and happy, believing to finally meet their soulmate after such a long wait. But alas, there are things to do. And it was just a normal day in life, or was it?

Izuki was exhausted, tired and cranky. He had pulled an all-nighter at the cafe, helping clean up, serving the few stranglers that came in and all together running the place since the people he worked with seemed to slack off whenever their boss left. He rubs his eyes tiredly, ready to go home when he looked outside. The sun was rising, which meant he would have to be back here in less than three hours. He sighs, shaking his head before walking back into the kitchen. He might as well return to his apartment, clean up a little bit and then return back to the cafe so he could do his day shift. He runs a slender hand through his hair as he mutters curses under his breath. He had lost his happy demeanor as a young child and now he was quiet, reserved and did what he was told. He shakes his head, before checking out and walking swiftly back towards his home. He looks around, seeing the busy people and loud talkers. He releases a soft sigh. Many were talking about meeting their soulmate, but Izuki lost his hope after a while. There was no point in hoping anymore. It's not like someone would love him anyways.
