Enlyn trained her bow on where the noise came from not looking away, ready to let the arrow lose. "Hello?" She called in the most scared voice she could muster. where…where are you really?

A crackly voice started from the rafters, “Huh? Don’t come in, I got a gun!” The elderly man was clearly caught off guard, he jumped from a wooden board and was moving his hands frantically. But he was human.
Rigel relaxed and called up, “It’s okay, we don’t mean to hurt you!” The man stopped, squinting at Rigel and Enlyn.

@Dirt

Enlyn still had her bow trained on the man, "howdy," she called her accent taking full control, "this your horse?" She narrowed her eyes and glanced at Rigel hoping he had a plan of sorts.

Rigel was caught off guard by the accent shift, but didn’t have time to ask about it as the man called, “Yeah it dang is my horse!” The man called then scrambled down the ladder angrily, “It ain’t for sale, now get your half-naked bodies out of my barn.”
Rigel crossed his arms over his chest, suddenly remembering how bare he was, “We’re not buying, just looking for a place to spend the night.” The man frowned at them, and Rigel returned the gesture.

@Dirt

Enyln let out a small laugh at the mans comment. "I'm sorry for the intrudesen." She said her accent retreating back, or maybe she'd forced it back. "And yes we are looking for shelter." Her bow seemed to follow the man, she was still uneasy. But she wouldn't show it.

He narrowed his eyes again, then muttered, “You’re lucky you’re the first real people I’ve seen in a while, or else I might not be so generous,” He turned his back on them pointing at the rafters, “Don’t mess with my things. I’ll spare you one canned good up there. I’m going to get feed for my horse, I better not find anything amiss by the time I get back.” The man walked out into the field, probably to get some grain or something.
Rigel let the smile crawl up on his face, “That was too easy.”

@Dirt

"I don't trust him. No ones that easy under the aim of a bow." unless he's like me…doesn't care. "you know he's probably gonna frame us for stealing." Enyln eyed the door letting her bow fall and putting her arrow away.

“There aren’t any cops anymore,” Rigel shrugged, as he walked toward the ladder and shimmied up it. The man hadn’t lied, there was a few canned goods. There seemed to be hay everywhere up here in the rafters, which made it seem off. why is there hay up here, and why isn’t the horse eating this hay? Rigel took a cautious step forward, but was jerked off his feet. And trap, a snare was wrapped on his ankle. And he was hanging upside down above Enlyn. He paled and hissed, “Enlyn, get out now.”

@Dirt

Enyln quickly pulled her bow and re-knocked an arrow quickly shooting the rope. She moved so Rigel wouldn't fall and crush her, then whipped around just in time to see the doors slam shut, "crud…uh, you okay Rigel..?"

Rigel winced, gripping his head in pain and blinking away the spots in his vision, “Oh gosh,” He cursed filthily enough to curdle milk, “Oh geez.” He looked around wildly, “He’s probably a cannibal, oh @#$&.”

@Dirt

"Well life was fun." Enlyn sat down putting her bow besides her and leaning back. "Who knew it'd end like this though?" She was surprisingly calm but in her head she was already planning on escape.

Rigel’s head pounded like a drum, making him let out a groan. It took a second for him to realize he had got a bloody nose from the fall. He wiped off his face, but he knew the blood only smeared, “Aw, @#$&, crap.” Rigel felt like the world spun a bit as he said, “Why did you have to make me fall?”

@Dirt

Enlyn laughed a little, "ah yes, sorry Rigel." She opened her eyes and glanced around. "So, how do you think he's gonna kill us? Starvation? Perhaps he'll slit out throats in our sleep." She let out a small chuckle and closed her eyes again.

“Geez…” was Rigel’s only reply, finally standing up and walking the the door. He shoved his shoulder against it. Once. Twice. A little bit of his blood splattered on it, forcing him to wipe his nose. His brother would have a fresh scent when he caught up. He slammed his shoulder into the door again, cussing a stream of words once again.

@Dirt

"Calm down." Enyln sat up to watch Rigel, "why so worked up? He could just be a nice old man giving us shelter." She looked to the brighter side even if she knew the truth. "Or not." Enyln mumbled leaning back again.

(I just realized I've been spelling have name 2 different was so…don't mind me and my confusion.)

“We’re gonna @#$&@#& die,” Rigel grunted, slamming against the door one more time before giving up. He paced for a few, then went back up to the rafters, muttering to himself, “A way out, yes… there has to be…” He felt the walls, but there wasn’t any weakness or rotting. One of his eyes twitched, and he wiped at his bloody nose again.

@Dirt

"Maybe." Now Enlyn stood and checked the walls, her own anxiety getting the better of her. "This is gonna sound really weird, but do you regret anything? I mean if we're gonna die might as well have a nice conversation before hand- hey mister old man feel like letting us out?" Enlyn kicked the door sending pain flaring threw her leg.

“Of course I regret things,” Rigel started, and he was already worked into a frenzy so his dang mouth continued, “I regret not getting sick with my brother, I regret leading him through you city, I regret not-“ He cut himself off, a deep red covering his face. “Geez…” He swore again at himself, shoving his should against the wall only to get pain as reward. This man -this cannibal- had planned out trapping victims. Rigel and Enyln couldn’t be the first.

@Dirt

Enyln sighed and leaned on a wall, "why don't we just dig our way out." She took a look at the dirt ground but a sinking feeling said it wouldn't be that easy. "Or you know. Except our deaths." She shrugged looking back to Rigel.

“That’s honestly a better idea than dying,” Rigel sighed, trying to calm himself down. He crawled down the ladder again, scanning the room for a ladder. One was sitting by the horse stall. He walked over, just about to grab it when ooze dripped on the ground in front of him. One breath, the horse was a mutant, vicious fangs and sickly skin about to lunge. The next, it was just a normal horse, standing calmly. Rigel blinked once, twice, then muttered, “When’s the last time I drank water…?”

@Dirt

"Rigel…you alright?" Enyln watched him with caution stepping forward. She looked to where he was looking to see if maybe there was something she couldn't quite see.
(Waaait is he hallucinating??? Child stop dying!)

(Yeah, but panic attack/paranoia kinda thing)
“Gosh no,” He whispered, closing his eyes for a second just to breath, “I just need water, or something,” He mumbled, letting his pack slide off his back. He put his head in his hands, “I’m sure I’m just dehydrated, sorry.”

@Dirt

"Its okay…" Enyln put her hand on Rigel's shoulder hoping all it really was just dehydration. "Shall we get digging then?" She asked pulling a small canteen out of her bag and handing it to Rigel. It didn't have much in it, but it was better then nothing.

Rigel closed his eyes and accepted the drink wordlessly, guzzling it. He gave it back to Enyln and forced himself to open his eyes and get back to work. A loud thunking came from outside. The door slid open, but the open man wasn’t alone. A pack of cannibals, probably who were hiding out in some bunker nearby while Enyln and Rigel were lured into the barn trap. Rigel’s hand twitched for his pack.

@Dirt

Enyln jumped back and had an arrow knocked without even thinking, it was pure instinct to her by now. "What the actual heck y'all?" Her accent peeking out, "so…y'all gonna eat us or…just gonna be nice and let us go?" She gave a friendly smile that was anything but friendly and trained her bow on the old man.

One guy grunted a laugh, while the others filed into the barn with eyes trained on them. Their next meal. Rigel desperately rifled through his pack, looking, looking. Then, faster than a bolt of lightning, a knife was at his neck and he was toppled to the ground. He trashed, but a sharp needle was stuck into his neck. His eyes bulged as he shouted at Enyln as the sedative worked, “Enyln, the pist…” The pistol. But Rigel was unconscious before he could finish the word.

@Dirt

Enyln let an arrow lose letting it plunge into someone chest with a sickening thunk she rushed to Rigel's bag to find the gun before falling into darkness, the back of her head throbbing from what ever she'd been struck with. Not like this.

The man who had attacked Rigel, who now laid on the floor unconscious, sprung up and went to attack Enyln next. The man was bulky, but and easy target. It was clear he favored his left side.

@Dirt

Enyln blinked till she could see, even if it was just a blur and swung her bow using it to smack the man as hard as possible, splintering her bow in two. "D-don't. Stay back." She wobled on her feet trying to keep from falling into a sleep that she'd most likely not awake from. "And- and leave Rigel alone." She'd pushed his bag behind her so they wouldn't try and take it. A laugh came from the group as Enyln collapsed. how..? she felt someone start to drag her before completely falling into the darkness that violently had been trying to claim her.

Rigel woke up groggily, but when he opened his eyes, the pain stung. And the metallic smell of blood. His eyes did a quick scan of his surroundings. They were tied up in the barn. Enyln was a few feet away, unharmed yet unconscious. Then Rigel looked at himself -his arm- and hurled up bile, coughing and choking on it. There was so much blood. The men -cannibals- sat not a few feet away. Passing around a thin slab of cooked, probably from the campfire nearby, meat. Rigel hurled again, and one of the cannibals frowned in disgust.
Rigel’s arm had cuts in it, chunks of meat taken out. And being eaten by the people not a few feet away. Rigel started to shake a little, despite his mind ordering him to calm down. He whispered in a panic, “Enyln.”
