Gabrielle felt a little lightheaded and she lays down wondering what the heck happened.

Carter watched Amai, his eyes widening and thoughts racing. He didn’t say anything about the blood, though it had still surprised him. Had he already taken Carter’s blood? What was he even doing with it all? He hoped his face didn’t betray his mildly panicked thoughts.

Carter crossed his arms, pulling his knees to his chest. He thought of looking for puncture wounds, but he wasn't even sure if there would be one, or that Amai had taken his blood. He glanced over at his stuff and reached over, pulling out a book. He started to read, willing his breathing to stay normal and his eyes not to look over at Amai, as he stared at the words on the page, not actually reading.
