Mari raced down the hallway, desperately trying to reach her classroom before the bell rang. She was still five doors away when the dreaded sound rang in her ears, making her groan and slow her pace. No use sprinting if she was going to be late anyway.
She pushed open her classroom door, and hadn’t even taken one step before she heard a voice from inside say, “Late again, Miss Baye.”
Mari sighed and stepped all the way in. “Yes Mrs. Elliot. I’m really sorry.”
“Sorry doesn’t get you out of detention,” Mrs. Elliot said sharply. “Please take your seat.”
Mari trudged to her chair and slumped into it, letting her backpack slide onto the floor with a thump as Mrs. Elliot started talking again.
Superhero/romance(ish) role play!! OPEN
Vince shook his head smiling, he leaned closer to Mari and whispered, "You should really invest in an alarm clock, you might find it useful." He picked up his pencil and looked at the teacher the picture of a perfect student.
Mari glared at him, not paying the least bit of attention to what the teacher was saying. "You know I've tried that. Alarms don't work on me, and it sucks."
Mrs.Elliot's voice cut through teir conversation, "Does any one have the answer?"
Vincent raised his had and answered, "47.568." Mrs.Elliot smiled and went on with her analysis of the problem on the board. "Have you tried a rooster? Or maybe a fog horn right next to your bed?'
Mari shoved him playfully. "Ha ha. If I could get one of my parents to wake me up I would but you know they're long gone before I have to wake up."
Vincent raised an eyebrow, "Or you could find out why you sleep in so much and remove the problem entirely, maybe you could try, I don't know, going to bed earlier perhaps?" He commented slyly raising an eyebrow.
"You know I can't do that." Mari rolled her eyes. "Inspiration strikes at any time, and for me that just happens to be at one in the morning. And anyway painting at night is so much calmer."
Kelton balled up a sheet of notebook paper and threw it over at them. “Shut up,” He whisper-yelled. “Before you get the rest of us in trouble.”
Vincent caught the wadded up paper before it hit his head and grinned, " But of coarse Kelton." e set down the paper and went back to the problem on the board.
Mari giggled. "Aww, is Kelton afraid of getting a detention?" She teased. "Don't worry love, you can serve it with me, I'm always there anyway."
(What do you guys think of Mari being the flirty one with Kelton, and Imperium is kinda shy with Nova? Or we don't have to do that it's just a thought)
(That’s cool with me!)
Kelton shot a smile in her direction. “Yeah, I’m aware. What happened this time?” He continued to periodically make eye contact as he wrote some sparse notes.
"I overslept again," Mari grumbled, doodling on her notes page. "I swear I've tried everything I can think of. Nothing works. I've just resigned myself to the fact that detention is going to be a regular occurrence for me."
Kelton laughed a bit too loud, and their teacher turned around. He quickly muffled his voice with his sleeve.
“Kelton? Detention after school today. No matter what I say, you continue to talk. So now you can learn to be silent.”
Once the teacher turned back to the board, Kelton threw his hands up in the air as if to say, really?
Mari took one look at him and burst into silent fits of laughter. "We have a detention date now!" She told him once she had calmed down. He looked so damn cute with his face all scrunched up in annoyance that after a second, she smirked, and continued, "I'm looking forward to it."
He leaned his head back. “Yeah, I guess I am too. As much as I hate detention, I think hanging out with you might be fun.”
Vincent smiled and continued to take notes, Mari and her crush at it again. He turned in his finished work, there were about 5 minuet's left of class at this point. "It's a pity you two are always in detention, I have to spend lunch with boring people." (So villain attack any time soon?)
(Sure, what kind of villain? And who’s gonna play the part?)
“Well, I only got one day of detention, unlike our friend here who lives on the edge,” Kelton said as he dropped his paper in the tray. He turned to Vincent. “Vince, looks like you’ll just have to be lonely today though.”
Vincent sighed in mock disappointment, "How ever will I survive, If either of you escape this dungeon I'll be hiding in the library." He picked up his bag right as the bell rang.
"Bye!" Mari called to Vincent, as she and Kelton headed toward the detention room. "So who do you think will be monitoring us today? I hope it's Miss Richards, she lets us talk and-" A tremor cut off the rest of her sentence, making her stumble in Kelton. Pink streaked across her cheeks as she righted herself, only to fall over again as the shaking got worse.
Kelton was startled when her body bumped into his, but he quickly helped her to her feet.
“You okay?” He asked with genuine concern on his face. Then he picked up the pieces of paper that she had dropped. “You might want these.”
(I think imma pull an Adrien and make Kelton completely clueless ;))
(Nice)
"Yeah, thanks." Mari took the papers, and her blush darkened when she noticed how Kelton was still holding her hand. She pulled away quickly, fingers running over the place where his hand just was. Stepping away from him, she looked around, partly to hide her blush but partly to see what was going on. "What do you think that was?"
Vincent leaned into the wall moments before the shaking started, he sighed and quickly made his way outside, "I really don't want to do this today." He mumbled
He smiled at her and patted her shoulder. “I think it was just you, my dude,” he laughed. “But anyway, yeah I hope it is Mrs. Richards. And I pray it isn’t Mr. Nee. He SUCKS.”
Mari's face scrunched up in confusion. "You didn't feel that?"
Kelton's smile turned into a frown as another tremor shook the building. “No, but I felt that one,” he replied.
