Alice sighed and looked over at Eve. "Well then. Let's go?"

@WriteOutofTime

Evera nodded hesitantly. "We have to." She followed Johan into the car.

Mila

Alice followed in. She settled herself into the seat and looked out the tinted car window.

@WriteOutofTime

Johan watched her carefully, his face still wearing that annoying smile. "How have you been, Alice? We haven't gotten a real chance to chat. Not with the more chaotic Xavier and Leonard around. What's been happening in your life recently?"

Mila

She bit her lip. "I've been fine. Spending less and less time with Lukas these days."

@TheGoldenLegend

(I wont be here for most of the day, so yawl can play as my character)

@WriteOutofTime

"Oh? Interesting. And why do you think that is?" He asked, still extremely polite, still smiling.

Mila

She looked at him. "Couples don't usually stay together when their child dies. Especially if he blames her."

@WriteOutofTime

Evera's eyes widened. Lukas was her ex? That would explain her coldness but her familiarity. She continued to listen, interested.

Johan's brows furrowed. "But that wasn't your fault. Or anyone's fault, really. A horrible accident. Tragedy."

Mila

"Wasn't an accident, Jo. You should know that better than anyone."

(NOOO! Come back!)

@WriteOutofTime

"Let's agree to call it oversight," Johan compromised. "Negligence. Unintended, to be sure, but not completely unexpected."

Mila

Alice shook her head. "How was I to expect it?""

Watching Xavier race off with a phone to his ear, Leonard bounced out from his hiding place.

@WriteOutofTime

"You knew the types of tests we were running," Johan said. Evera noted his use of the word 'we'. He's trying to shift the blame to as many as possible, she thought.

Mila

"He was five," Alice countered.

@WriteOutofTime

Johan shrugged a bit. "He had amazing abilities for such a young age. It was difficult to know his limits."

Seeing Johan and the girls not that far off, Leonard decided to watch from a random bench.

Mila

She laughed humourlessly. "You shouldn't have started those experiences in any case. They were cruel."

@WriteOutofTime

"What if I told you I truly didn't mean for it to happen?" He replied in a way that was almost gentle. "As I said, it was truly a tragedy –not just because we lost those incredible abilities, but also because he was just a child. It doesn't sit well with me either. But we don't have to linger on the past."

"I wish I was over there." Leonard muttered, glancing over to Johan.

Mila

Alice looked at Johan a long moment. "Ok. Fine. Let's not linger."

Finding his courage, Leonard stood up and walked towards the group. 'Lets hope this goes well,' he thought.

@WriteOutofTime

"Brilliant," he said, all smiles again. "What else has been going on with you? Surely you must have a job, maybe a boyfriend, some sort of hobby?"

Mila

"I work as a social worker. I don't have a boyfriend. And I run, I play piano and I cook," Alice told him distractedly.

Standing behind Alice, Leonard used his small form to hid behind her. Sticking out his head, he eye Johan suspiciously. 'What is his next move?' he thought.

(…we're in the limo….)

@WriteOutofTime

"A social worker? Oh, that's lovely." He nodded, gazing out the window. "That's a very noble profession. I applaud you."

(Ohhhh I did not know that! Welllllllllll,……. Leonard is on top of the roof! Lets say that!)

Mila

Alice smiled tightly. "Thank you."
