Supernatural Academy {SOMEONE PLEASE JOIN!! I'M BEGGING YOU!}

A century or so ago, there was a wizard who wanted to create a school for mythical creatures so that they could go to a school where they didn't have to hide what they were. That school was called Supernatural Academy, but to the outside world it was St. Bernard's School for Gifted Students.
You were just told that you have been excepted into Supernatural Academy. The problem is that this year, there is a mysterious person that is putting people in a coma at the school. So, yeah. Join if you want.
You can be any species, including a human with powers, but please don't make your character too op. Thanks!
Also, I'm stealing this idea from Harry Potter: there will be a train to the school just because I feel like it.

Back Story: Calypso was raised on land by her father. Her mother was a siren, and apparently she inheritated some of her mother's traits. She ran away from her father when she was twelve, though, because he had started beating her. She soon met up with Charlie, though, and the two stuck together.

Back Story: Charlie got her powers after a blast that killed her parents and sister. Her brother became hideously deformed and got taken away. She escaped and has been living on the streets for 3 years, making money through street fighting and theft.

Appearance: His eyes are photonegative (birth defect due to his magic), scars line his hands for when he wasn't careful with his magic
