The Glacier Express (Closed for now)

Dalton smiled to the roommate, "Hello, my name is Dalton," He felt awkward.

"OK," Elara said simply, not looking up from her unpacking.

"So you uh… your interested in stars?"

"More like obsessed. I think my name forechose it."

"Hm. That's… nice. I like music…" Maeve still felt stiff. Dang it.

Dalton hovered unsure he even remembered how to socialize.

Again, Elara stays silent for a moment, then she stands up. "I should go find my aunt."

"Oh–Oh! Ok, I'll just… move…" she quickly side-stepping, realizing she hadn't moved from her spot at the door.

"I guess I'll see you later," Elara says, stepping out and heading further down the carriage.

Dalton stepped aside to let her through. When she was gone she looked back at Maeve, "Well that was fun," He said sarcastically. He was never sarcastic.

Her eyes widened in surprise. Though she just met him, sarcasm and Dalton didn't seem to mix. "You alright?"

"Yes, I am fine." He said finally stepping into the room, "You think I would be used to awkward confrontations with how I grew up, yet they always make me freeze up."

"I didn't go through what you did, but I freeze at the mere possibility of chat." Maeve peered into her room, then decided it was okay to walk in.

"Social awkwardness, it's like a disease." He frowned.

"That's spreads quickly and is highly contagious,"

Dalton laughed. "You have a point."

She began to flick the pen cap on and off again. "I guess I do. I don't know what to really do now… unless you want to try and befriend one of the other passengers. But I think we just proved that to be unlikely."

"I wish I could meet my roommate but he hasn't been around, so maybe I'll get the room to myself."

Maeve weighed the possibility, "Maybe. I wouldn't be too sure. Always try to prepare for any situation."
