Kofi came downstairs and spotted Kayin. It seemed she was trying to be quiet, so he waved. "What's happening in there?" He mouthed silently.

"We must keep tradition. I will assist in running the kingdom even when you are crowned, and tradition will be kept." she said, raising her voice.

(Kayin out here throwing that shade)

(as always)

"But I am not ready for marriage. I do not want children!" There. She said it.

(XDD)

She placed her hand on Mbahli's shoulder to calm her. We will figure something out later, give it a rest, she mouthed.

Kofi came downstairs and spotted Kayin. It seemed she was trying to be quiet, so he waved. "What's happening in there?" He mouthed silently.

"Mother is talking to Zakhele and Mbhali about marriage. I'm glad I'm not in there." Kayin murmured.

"Don't give me that tone. You're getting married and that's that!" Ngozi roared.

Mbhali shook her head slightly. Not this time. she mouthed.

@Fraust

"Both of them?" Kofi whispered. "Wouldn't Zakhele be the only one who needs to be married?"

"No! I will not! That's not that!" She shouted.

@IconicUsername

"Mother, please calm down," she insisted. "Can't we work something out? The only thing that matters right now is the crowning. Then we worry about the contest and so on. It is too early for these things."

"Both of them?" Kofi whispered. "Wouldn't Zakhele be the only one who needs to be married?"

Kayin shrugged. "She most likely wants to get the conversation with Mbhali out of the way."

"You will be married, that's that! Tradition will be kept whether you like it or not, we need to have an heir to the throne!" she shouted back, furious.

"Why does it matter for me? I. Am. Not. Heir!"

@IconicUsername

"Mbahli," she said, turning to her sister. "This is not the time to have this conversation. Perhaps when mother is more calm. You know this time of the day is irritating for her."

She sighed. "Very well sister."

"You don't have anymore say than I do, leave the subject of breaking tradition in the mud where it belongs." Ngozi sighed.

@IconicUsername

She nodded and shot her sister a reassuring smile. "We'll convince her, don't worry," she murmured. She turned back to their mother and crossed her arms. "Let's talk about the crowning preparations please."

@Fraust

"Both of them?" Kofi whispered. "Wouldn't Zakhele be the only one who needs to be married?"

Kayin shrugged. "She most likely wants to get the conversation with Mbhali out of the way."

"I don't envy them… I just hope it won't be too hard on them. Ruling is quite stressful, I've heard."

(BTW how does the crowning ceremony work? I wasn't quite clear on that.)

Kayin sighed, leaning her head back against the wall. "Still…I would do anything to be ruler."

@Fraust

Kofi nodded. "I'm last in line, so I've just accepted the fact that I'll likely never be ruler. And I'm okay with that. I'm okay to just sort of assist whoever's in charge."

She nodded along, pretending that she agreed with her younger brother. Kayin peeked back in to the throne room.

@IconicUsername

(I just added it to Amkwana's note's section.)

@IconicUsername

(Half-tempted to make a servant to like show up in the middle of Kayin and Kofi's conversation. XD)

(I'd be fine with that)

@IconicUsername

(Gonna fill out the form in a second. I need dinner.)
