Ash nodded her head "alright well that sounds like a plan. " she and took selene's hand as they headed for the door she looked at her feet as they walked "we don't have much ammunition so just make your shots count,if we can I'd like to avoid using our guns as much as possible. It draws to much attention and could potentially get us into more trouble. " she pulled out a switch blade from her back pocket and handed it to Selene "this knife has saved my life more than once.. If anything happens I want you to keep it okay? " she looked up at the other woman her eyes meeting hers.

Selene listened intently to Ash's words, nodding slightly in agreement. "That's fairly reasonable. Until we can stock up again, that's probably best." She takes a deep breath and shakes her head. "Besides, even with them being loud, we don't want to attract anything particularly nasty." She couldn't get the sight of seeing a clicker outside of her mind. It had been terrifying to say the least. But she had managed to get the two of them out alive and away and that's all that matters. She was thrust out of her thoughts when she saw the knife being held out to her. She carefully took it, inspecting it in her hands. "Alright. But. If anything happens, and you're in danger, I'm protecting you, first thing. Okay?" She offers a hesitant smile before gently tucking the knife into one of the pockets of her jacket.

The knife over all looked pretty well kept, but looked slightly tarnished and old but it worked all the same, if you knew how to use it that is.
Ash had brought her hands up to her chest crossing her arms "your life comes first, Selene we don't even know if I'm going to make it all the way north. I could turn in my sleep, hell I could infect you- I don't want that to happen but.. selene I want you to kill me, before its too late and I put you in danger. "

Selene glanced at Ash, "A) If you turn in your sleep, I'll deal with it. If you infect me, I'll deal with it. But I'm not going to kill you. We're going to live one day at a time and take it as is. That's all we can do at this point. Do you understand me? We're doing this together whether you like it or not. I'm going to live for you and I hope you can do the same for me. I'm not leaving you behind." Her voice was steady and kind. But there was no room for argument.

Ash listened to Selene with her hands crossed before sighing "okay.. I just, I don't want anything to happen to you Selene. And it's hard to live for someone else and you know that. " she shook her head and continued walking, they weren't to far off from the QZ just enough to be clear of their patrols but it would still be good while before they got there. Ash looked looked up and saw a few buzzards circling and she slowed down. "There's something dead over there, do you want to go around or check it out?" She personally didn't want to go near it but Selena had the majority of the amo in her pack so she left it up to her.

Selene sighed deeply. "Nothing is going to happen to me." She didn't know that- she sure as hell didn't know that. This world was too cruel… any day could be her last if she wasn't careful. She saw the buzzards and her eyes narrowed. "No. It's best if we go around. If somethings dead, it's probably attracting the attention of the damn infected." She took a deep breath. "Depending on how close we are to one of the QZ's I might be able to get one of my connections to bring us more food and ammo." She mutters softly.

Ash shrugged before wiping the sweat from her brow, 'yeah.. I thought that as well selene. We never know what's going to happen. I got bitten and thought that my whole life was over, " she awaited a moment before responding to Selena response "alright then were gonna have to take the long way around then, which way do you wanna go, we'd be closer to the woods if we go left though. "

Selene offered a headband to Ash and nodded faintly. "No, we don't know what's going to happen." She chuckled quietly before she took a deep breath. "We'll just keep an eye on symptoms, okay?" She knew that people turned quickly, but… was it not spreading as fast, or was there the hope that Ash was immune? That she was okay? Selene felt her heart lift a little in hope. "We'll go left. Offers us more coverage. Besides, going right gets us closer to those buzzards than I wanna be." Selene started to make a beeline to the left, her gun in hand. The only issue with the forest is that it wasn't open space, but it was easier to hide.

Ash accepted the headband greatfully and slipped it over her head as she looked out over the clearing, she walked after Selene keeping her eyes on the tree line. "Just keep quiet until we get back into the clearing okay? I don't like the look of those woods. '

(I'm so so sorry I took so long to reply to this may was crazy with finales and I lost a lot of rps but I hope to continue this one!)

Selene nodded in agreement. "I don't like the look of those woods either. But I'd rather take this way then see what the buzzards were circling. Just stay close to me, and stay alert, okay?" She offers a gentle smile and moves forward. Hopefully they could get to the QZ without issue, but she couldn't help but worry. It constantly felt as if there were infected hiding in plain sight. She hated the feeling.

Ash nodded as they made their way down the tree line. Sticking close to Selene she did her best to return the smile, but it ended up looking a bit weirder than she had hoped. It wasn't really normal for people to smile these days so she didn't get much practice. She seemed a bit nervous, she did look forward to finding the QZ she was what they're trained to kill it wouldn't be the first time a soldier shot at her but we're talking about Mele Range she'd be a dead woman for sure, she looked down at her forearm and nearly chuckled, 'the rest of the way dead.'

Selene ran a hand through her hair before adjusting herself and grabbing a gun from her hip. She knew that it was risky, but she needed to be able to act quickly if something wrong happened. She felt like it was something. She knew some people at the QZ's that could help them, she would just need to signal them in order to get the supplies they needed, and make sure that she and Ash were taken care of until they could get further up north. That was her goal for now. Get the needed supplies and get them up north. They could settle up there, there was no one once the world got icier. They could escape, hunker down and live the rest of their lives quietly… but… Ash was immune… that could mean a hope for the rest of humanity… no. She would talk it over with Ash, see what their options were.
