Gabby twisted a loose curl around her finger, pondering whether she should trust these people or not. They seemed relatively nice so far, but that man told her that she shouldn't. He seemed to know what was going on here…maybe he was right. Wait…he said there was only one survivor, right? That means that she would have to…kill everyone, including Genie. Gabby knew she couldn't win this thing by hiding…but she couldn't kill, right?

August gave Genie a nod, followed by a quick smile.
"Do you have any idea what we're doing?" Genie asked both aloud and by sign to August. She remembered a bit of sign language she learned over one summer because why not?

August made a pleased, yet surprised, expression to see that Genie knew sign language. Not many people knew how to sign those days. ‘Not sure at the moment’ he signed back.

Gabby shook her head to rid herself of the terrible thoughts. "That man mentioned something about a ball…?"
"Well that's just great," Genie sighed, her hands now moving on her own as the muscle memory returned, "So they gathered all of the twins here and none of us know what's next."
The princesses were back soon. “Our tutor let us out,” Noa explained, talking slowly so August could read her lips.

‘All I know is about the killing.’ August signed, his movements becoming a tad more sharp as he did so.
"So there's a ball, and killing. This just keeps getting better," she said sarcastically.
“There was something like this awhile back,” Noelle said, trying to remember. “I think they said all the ‘blessed’ twins were put into an arena because of some old prophecy. They fought to the death and whoever was the last survivor was the next queen/king.”

August frowned heavily now, brows furrowed. He didn’t want to hurt anyone. Like he said, he only would ever use his illusions against someone of it were to protect Charlie.

Gabby shivered at the thought of killing. That wasn't what she was scared of the most. To be honest, Gabby wasn't too worried or nervous about killing these people, and that's what made her freak out. I'm not even worried about murdering people…
"Something up Gabby?" Genie got concerned.
“What can you guys do?” Noa asked. Noelle stood silently and almost seemed to be listening to something else.

The sign for illusions was pretty uncommon, so August did his best to say the word, a slight stutter in his tone as he did so.

She nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine." Gabby turned to the others. "I have ice powers."
Genie nodded along accepting her twins condition.
“Illusions,” Noelle said to Noa quietly. She nodded and faced the others.
“I’m a shapeshifter. Noelle has some mind powers. Can we all agree that we don’t want to kill each other?”
"I can agree to that," Genie responded.

“So,” she lowered her voice to a whisper. “We plan. Later, tonight. The place where the king told us to meet. I don’t know what he wants us to do there - probably the same thing.”
