Grayson scowled and pushed past Alex. “Before you think I came here for you, my sister wanted stuff for dinner.”

“Sure…” Alex put the blueberries in his cart. “Am I going to go home and find out I have a new neighbor too? Cause' that’s what it feels like.”
“You think I wanted to talk to you today?! One of the worst days of my life?! No. I didn’t. It just happened okay?”
Alex picked up some raspberries and put them in his cart. “That day I bought a lot of groceries. I was really upset. I still am.” Alex tried to speak calmly so they wouldn’t create a bigger scene. The turned around so Grayson is behind him. “I hate you now.”
“You hate me because I said we were both better off alone?!” Grayson said loudly, not caring if anyone stared. “You agreed with me!”
"Agh!" Alex whipped around to face Grayson. "Do you think that's what I really wanted!? You suggested the idea! I just agreed knowing it was going to happen anyways!"
“What do you mean you KNEW it was going to happen?!”
"Well if you didn't want to be with me I couldn't force you!"
"I thought you hated me! That's why I broke up with you!"
"I didn't hate you!" Alex picked up some cucumbers. "But I hate you now!"
"WHY?!"
Alex picked up another cucumber. "Because!"
"That's not a reason!"
"Why did you want to break up with me!?"
“I thought you didn’t love me anymore a-and I thought you were going to break up with me that night s-so I just did it myself. I’m so sorry Alex.” Tears blocked his vision and he turned away from Alex.
"What would make you think that? I would never just not love you without a reason. Now I have a reason." Alex put the cucumbers in his cart.
“I was scared Alex! You were my first!”
“Your first what?! First person to date? First boyfriend? First kiss? The list could go on!” Alex walked away a few feet to grab some peaches.
“I didn’t know what I was doing Alex!”
“Well that’s not the best excuse!”
“Well what do you want me to tell you?!”
"I don't know!" Alex picks up a peach. "But it doesn't matter now." He puts the peach with his thumb.
“Yeah..doesn’t matter.” His voice was quiet and tears threatened to spill over.
Alex put the peach in the cart. "I'm going to go… I have a lot of shopping to do… And I'm done talking to you." Alex turned and started to leave.
"Alex? I'm sorry.." Grayson tried desperately.
Alex shook his head as he walked away. I don't think I can bare to look at him for another minute…
Grayson turned away and a sob escaped his lips. He left his food and the store in a hurry. I knew this was a mistake.. He reached his car and set his head on the steering wheel, tears sliding down his face.
Alex walked through the store, putting whatever looked good in his cart. He got in line to checkout, which was short and headed to his car.
Grayson ran his hands through his hair. He hates me so much. I'm so stupid thinking he would ever forgive me..
Alex mentally cursed himself when he saw that he was parked across from Grayson. At least I'm not next to him… Alex tried quickly put all of his groceries into his car, which is hard since he bought a lot.
