Cally sat at her desk, tapping her pencil along the wood. Her bag sat on the floor next to her. Everything seemed way too silent, but it didn't seem like anyone else noticed. She could strike up a conversation with one of the people next to her, but instead she continued to drum her pencil.

The school bell rang and the teacher walked in. Emili waited nervously at the door. Soon the teacher called her in and she introduced herself, "Hi, my name is Emili. " she hummed

The class gave their customary hello in dull, bored tones. Cally watched the girl, a smile on her lips. She looked, for lack of better word, beautiful. Cally's friend elbowed her in the side, and she glared at him. She looked back down at her desk, blushing. She hadn't meant to be staring.

Emili's eyes scanned the class for any familier faces and caught the eyes of a beautiful brownhaired girl. She diverted her glace quickly and blushed.

The bell rang for the end of homeroom and Cally scrambled to get her bag. She slung it over her shoulder, trying not to stare at the new girl as she left the room. The teacher cleared his throat and tapped her on the shoulder before she got out the door. "Ms. Walker? If you wouldn't mind, could you show Emili to her first class? Thank you." He gestured for them both to leave the room, and Cally blushed as she walked out, waiting for Emili to follow.

Emili followed her out, "Cally, right?" she asked, blushing lightly

"Uh, yeah." Cally responded. "Well, my full name's Callista, but everyone calls me Cally. So.. what's your first class?"

"Says here math." she replied

"Oh! Me too. You can follow me then, I guess." Cally said, smiling. She walked toward the stairwell. "So, where are you from? We don't get a lot of new kids here."

"Canada." she replied, walking up the staires with her
