Floyd quickly shook his head, rubbing at his eyes. They still stung around the edges and felt almost hot, like the tend to when you get sick. Despite the decent amount of sleep he got, he felt completely worn out, like the energy had been drained from his body.

Ace smiled, leading Floyd into his room and sitting down on the bed, a million thoughts racing through his mind, his eyebrows furrowed as he watched Floyd.

Floyd glanced around the room for a moment. He had just been so delighted to be in there hours before. He walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at the sheets.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked, rubbing Floyd's back as he watched him think, his eyebrows furrowed.

Floyd’s jaw clenched and he thought about it. “She didn’t kill herself,” he said quietly, looking down at his lap.

Ace nodded, scooting closer to the taller boy, giving him a side hug, and not letting go.
"I know." He said, trying to keep it simple, trying to get Floyd to talk.

Floyd leaned into Ace’s embrace, his body limp. “Who would do that to her?” He stammered, tears pooling in his eyes again.

Ace frowned, running his hands, once again, through Floyd's hair, until he started to cry.
"It's okay, I will find who did this to her." He said, a bit angry that he didn't already know. He took Floyd's face in his hands, using his thumbs to gently brush away the tears from his eyes.
"I promise." His voice was serious and a bit dark, he sat up a bit, giving Floyd a small peck on the nose as he pulled him into his side.

Floyd shuddered as a sob racked through his body. “Why did this have to happen? Why Cassie? What did she do to deserve this?” He sobbed, clinging to Ace.

He let out a sigh, rocking Floyd back and forth.
"She did nothing, there is nothing that could have prevented this," He said, trying to get him to calm down, "It's okay love, we'll figure it all out." He kissed the top of Floyd's head before laying him down on his bed.
"You should rest okay?" He asked, sitting down next to him, "Nick will be here soon.." He said, checking his phone.
Ace stood up, and gave Floyd a sympathetic smile.
"Just, get some rest."

“Are you leaving?” Floyd stammered, looking up at Ace. He couldn’t leave. He left Cassie alone, and she was killed. Is Ace went off alone, he could be killed too. He was probably being paranoid, but how else was he supposed to feel?

"I don't have to.." He said, walking back to the bed and laying down face to face with Floyd, pulling him close to his chest, making sure he knew he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Floyd shook his head, arms wrapping around Ace’s waist. He buried his head into Ace’s chest, tears leaking from his eyes as his cries became silent.

Ace sighed, holding Floyd tightly to him. He wasn't sure what to do to make him feel better, when he was dealing with his father's death he spent his time reading, but he didn't have a clue as to how he could reassure Floyd that they would catch the sick fucker who did this.

Floyd shut his eyes tight, mind racing with thoughts. Would Ryan be the too obvious suspect? Maybe someone that Cassie worked with would know something. He would take any lead he was given at that point. He didn’t know many of Cassie’s friends so well. He hoped that they would know anything on whatever enimies his sister could have had.

Ace stared up at the ceiling, he held onto Floyd, occasionally glancing down at him. He looked down at Floyd, quickly slipping out his phone. He sent messages to a few people, already trying to figure out who did this.

Floyd sniffled softly, arms tightening a tad around Ace’s waist. He was so tired, but he was too nervous to sleep. He had a feeling he would see Cassie’s body in his dreams if he did.

As he attempted to stay awake, he rocked Floyd back and forth, mumbling the lyrics that his father used to sing to him when he was upset.
"Carry on, my wayward son, they'll be peace when you are done.." He leaned closer to Floyd's ear, making sure he could hear, "Lay your weary head to rest, don't you cry no more.."

Floyd listened to Ace’s voice, and exhaled slowly. He buried his face in the crook of Ace’s neck, eventually feeling soothed enough that his eyes slowly fluttered shut. His breaths became steady and his grip on the boy had loosened, hinting that he had fallen asleep.

Ace continued singing until the song ended, a small smile on his face as he held Floyd tightly against himself.
He doesn't deserve this.
He yelled to himself in the back of his mind.
I have to find out who did this, for Floyd.

Floyd’s eyes slowly fluttered open when light began to show through the curtains of Ace’s bedroom. His eyes still felt puffy, and he was sure that the skin alrunf them was bright red. Maybe it was just a terrible dream. Maybe he was just waking up from being with Ace, and Cassie was at home, most likely arguing with Nick about his cooking.

Ace laid there, holding onto Floyd like his live depended on it, he refused to wake up right now, he didn't want to, until he felt Floyd stir, allowing his blue eyes to open as he looked down at the other boy.
"Mornin' he said, his eyelids droopy as he gave Floyd a kiss on the nose, hoping he was in a somewhat better mood.

“Morning,” Floyd mumbled, pressing a soft kiss to Ace’s neck in return. He shifted a bit more and propped himself up slightly against his elbow. He rubbed at his stinging eyes, sniffling softly. It wasn’t a dream. His sister really was gone.

"Hey, It's gonna be okay." He said, following his lead, sitting up just a bit and taking Floyd's face in his hand, the other holding him up.
"I'll cover all the costs and we'll put together a funeral, I can help you and Nick plan it if you want..although I can just pay..I understand if you just want to have family time.." He said, staring into Floyd's eyes.

Floyd leaned into the touch, letting out a slow breath. “No, you should come. Cassie would want you to come,” he said softly. Nick. Where was his brother? Where was he in the castle?
