"Sure," he said, plugging the aux cord in and choosing the soundtrack. "Which song though?"
The Paperback Theater
Cam shrugged again. "You could just put it on shuffle."
Michael started to hum Michael in the Bathroom since it was one of the only songs he knew from the musical
Asura heard Michael and smiled, playing Michael in the Bathroom.
Cam sung along with the song, being as dramatic as possible.
Michael started to quietly sing along
Asura wanted to sing, but he listened to the others, chuckling quietly.
Charlie mumbled the words as she tapped her foot lightly to the beat of the song.
Ellie sang along with Cam and Micheal, quietly at first but slowly gaining confidence.
"Okay, who's house is closest? I'm going south right now," Asura said, interrupting the music for a moment.
"I don't know. I'm on the beach so I think I'm the furthest," Michael said
"Mine is pretty close. Just drop me off by the library up ahead." Cam pointed straight forward.
"Got it," Asura said, speeding up a little bit, but stopping abruptly at a red light.
Cam nearly hit the seat in front of him. "I thought you said you'd be careful."
"Well, there was a yellow light. Green means go, red means stop, and yellow means floor it." He said this as if it were common knowledge.
Cam shook his head. "Right. Of course it does."
He chuckled and moved ahead when the light turned green, then pulled into the library parking lot. "You've reached your destination, I hope you enjoyed your trip."
He laughed a little. "Thanks." Cam climbed out of the car, slinging his backpack over his shoulder. He waved to the car and began walking down the path behind the library. The path went through a small patch of woods before reaching the apartment complex where he lived.
Asura waved back before driving off. "Alright, who's next?"
Ellie raised her hand. "I'm on Yew Road."
"You g-guys can just d-drop me off at, at Breakstone Bridge, it's kinda hard to reach where I live so I'll just walk the r-rest of the way," Charlie explained.
"My van can handle it," Asura assured Charlie. "So I'll drop Ellie off next… then who? Michael or Charlie? You both live somewhat an equal distance away."
"I dunno… What do you w-want to do Michael?" she asked, kinda indifferent to the decision.
"You can go first. I don't feel like going home yet, and I kinda wanna see where you live. Not to be creepy or anything!"
"Ha. Okay. That's fine. B-basically, I'm on a side r-road that turns from gravel to dirt at the, the base of the mountain." She paused. "You'll-ll know it when you see it. It's the only br-bright-red house on, on the left."
"Ooh, you got the mountain house? Erica was thinking of buying it before it got taken. I still like the beach though, it's nice to write next to it."
"Y-yeah. I like ex-exploring the forest-t and looking up flora and, and fauna when I'm bored."
Asura turned toward the road the Charlie mentioned, switching the music to one of his favorite songs. He hoped the passengers wouldn't completely hate it.
"Ooh, what song is this? Sounds familiar," Michael asked from the back
(bro what song should I even put in here??)
