An arrow shot into one of the wolves. The beast howled in pain, then fell to the ground, dead. More arrows fired out of the dark. The wolves scattered, some falling to the ground during their attempt at escape. Then everything went silent. Gerard hopped down from the tree. "You're welcome."

"Gerad? Ohthankgoodness," she breathed, placing one hand over her chest. "I thought I was going to die. Thank you."
