The king patted him on the back and walked away
"If I had a soul, I'd be dying right about now" he whispered, "met the king and I'm not banished? Whew!"
Evan sigh deeply as her parents walked off
Jack walked out and walked to Evan, "that was… intimidating"
"was because it was the king, or because he was my father?" She asked
"both, actually" he keeps taking deep breaths
"why?* She Asked.
He shows his true form and points at himself, "is one, and… I've grown…to appreciate your company"
She placed a hand on his cheek " your not a monster jack and I'm not going anywhere no matter what my parents say" she said
He admires the feel of her hand and the removes it, "i know."

His eyes grew bright, "There a secret meadow on the other side of the forest, one most beautiful than the others. Would mind accompanying me?"
" I would be honored" she said with a giggle
They ventured back into the forest, but with happiness. They ventured beyond Jack's home, across the river, and finally come across a beautiful meadow with flowers of almost every kind. A stream lied near with purest of waters. And in the middle, lied a doe. "This is my place of peace"
