The Soul Labyrinth <Remake> [Closed]

”Hm? Oh, most people here just call me Jon, you can do too” the child replied with a grin which showed his nicely arranged set of teeth.
”Well, mister Matthew, I’ll be going now, I’ve got to deliver these to Dr. Cassius, any idea where he’s at?” the child asked the man in the room as he showed him a kit of medical instruments; syringes, needles, gauzes, you name them.
”He went right of the hall, perhaps down that aisle” the man holding the feline answered with a gesture to the right of the room.
”Alright—“ the kid went over to the door and opened it ”—I’ll see you later!” he sent the two a wave before he closed the door and ran down the hallway.

”The portals? Oh they’re at—“ his words were cut short when a purple chain appeared from nowhere and sealed his jaws and mouth shut. Soon, the chains disappeared and the man, who was now shaking uncontrollably turned back to Adara.
”I-I can’t tell you that until a certain set of rules is met…” he was showing clear signs of fear.

(Nevermind I still have time for one more reply to each, [teacher’s not here today which is great])

Kasai soon stepped down and stood beside Hinata, turning into his humanoid form; a tall black haired man with a red and white yukata, a pair of sharp red eyes and tender lips, a soft-looking tail which was much fluffier than that of Kori’s and sensitive ears.
”Kori, you know Matt won’t be so happy with you doing that, right? He’d be hella jealous” Kasai mentioned, gesturing at the handholding situation that was going on.
”I don’t really care, right?” Kori answered, looking down at Kagami and gave her a soft smile.

Yet again, Hinata couldn't help but be reminded of her husband when she saw Kasai in this form. That is, if Daniel would ever be man enough to just put the damn yukata on. She chuckled a bit at the thought of Matthew being jealous.
Kagami looked up at Kori, smiling brightly. She loved spending time with him.

As they were walking down the hall, a door opened without any warning in front of them. The person who walked out was dressed like a doctor with his thick glasses, white gown, surgical mask, and the documents which were in his hand.
He turned to the group and jumped a little.
”Jumpy as always Dr. Cassius” Kasai mentioned with a giggle.
Kori smiled in greeting to the doctor as well.
”At least it was you two and not someone else—“ he eyed Hinata for a bit before speaking up ”—you look… familiar… do I know you?”

Hinata was about to say something about how most people recognize her nowadays, but something stopped her. Something tugged at her core; this Dr. Cassius looked familiar to her as well.
"I'm not… sure…" She furrowed her eyebrows slightly, trying to figure out what connection she might have had to this man. Kagami looked between the two, confused.

”Either way, that won’t make a difference…” the doctor took off his surgical mask and read the documents about the patient whose room he just came out from.
Kasai moved a bit closer to Hinata and whispered:
”Doctor Cassius is a dimensional doctor, perhaps he used to travel to your realm to heal someone there when they’ve fallen ill? He can cure basically any illness after all so he’s quite famous” the fire fox hybrid explained with a soft tone.

Matthew sighed heavily once before he regained his sanity to speak.
”Three rules; one, you’ve gained trust from at least ten Knights or former Knights by helping them in their duties or just being close to them, friendship and relationship wise. Two, you’ve gained trust from at least three of the twelve Viscounts via the same methods and…” the Knight paused a bit ”…third, ‘free’ at least one of the Knights” he was a bit shaky when explaining the last part. It was delicate process that not a lot of people dared to try.

Hinata nodded, accepting the explanation. Well, as much as she could, anyway; after all, her own sister was a very powerful healer. Something was adding up in her mind. She brushed these thoughts to the side, however; there would be time to think about it later.
"My name is Hinata Hayashi," She finally introduced herself, bowing a bit to the doctor. There was no reason why she shouldn't be polite. She slipped her hands back in her pockets.

The doctor made a concerned face before his eyes flashed.
”Your… Matthew’s friend from years ago… the Balance Keeper…” the doctor stared at her a bit before averting his gaze and giggling.
”Cassius Faltur, former Knight of the Labyrinth in the same generation as Matthew was in” the doctor introduced with a soft smile.

An image would pop into Hinata’s mind; this man was the person who Matthew introduced to Hinata several ten years ago, back then he was only a war medic whose duty made his clothing dirty, stained, and or ripped always. He’s changed a lot since then, that was for sure.

”One thing you’ve got to understand is that us Knights and former Knights are trapped under a spell, an invisible and undetectable one which erased our memories from when we were alive and unless someone else helps us regain those memories via items in the Labyrinth, we’ll be trapped in these false thoughts that were placed inside our heads” the former Knight explained before he went onto the next point.
”Viscounts are just Phantoms whose magic levels exceed that of the Knights so they were up ranked to a Viscount. Lastly, us Knights have very different behaviors and personalities, perhaps you can find some who get along with you without you having to change parts of who you are”

Recognition clicked in Hinata's mind, and she relaxed to have remembered. Not knowing how she knew people was dangerous, so it was nice to figure these things out in a quick manner.
"You've come far since then," she noted with a friendly smile.

”Oh trust me, it’s been a long way” Cassius managed to crack a small laugh.

”Doctor Cassius~~!!!” a young voice had called out from deeper into the hall. The doctor and the two foxes turned to see who it was and when the figure passed the shadows, they smiled in soft joys.
”Hello Jonathan, got what I’ve ask?” the doctor knelt down to grab the kit of medical tools the boy got for him.
”Good boy” the doctor laughed a bit and patted the child’s head, making him laugh.

The boy looked at the two tall men behind and waved them a ‘hello’ to which they both waved back.
”Mister Kasai, same as usual pleaseeeee” the boy requested to which the fire fox hybrid moved towards the child, lifted him up, and let him sit on his shoulder.
”Hello misses—“ the boy on Kasai’s shoulder looked down at Hinata and Kagami ”—what are your names? Mine’s Jonathan Clove! It’s nice to meet you nonetheless!”

The flaming figure sighed softly once as he commanded the smoke to create a portal.
”This will lead you to a realm where the dead roam free… if you’d like to meet her again, step through”

Jade almost ran to the portal but she stopped herself "I-is there a catch?"

The fiery figure paused a bit before answering:
”You’ll find out once you step through, don’t worry, it’s not anything extreme” the figure reassured, looking at the portal with the edge of his eyes.

The Knight looked down at Kye’s shaking body, feeling guilty of what he had just witnessed. No one would believe the Knight, he was sure, but he had experienced something similar to what Kye’s been through in his childhood. Then, something hit him.
”Is he a magic user? Let me rephrase, does he have a magic that can be classified as powerful…?” the Knight asked, a bit shaky his tone was.

"He doesn't have any power at all. His force fields are because of me. If he didn't have me he couldn't use the force fields," Gelion replied. "So to answer bluntly, no he doesn't."

The Knight sighed.
”He’ll waking up soon anyways… why should I care” the Knight said, gesturing to Kye before walking back into the darkness and clearly jumping away. The hole the needle made on Kye’s neck started to disappear when the Knight left, healing Kye at a fast rate.

Hinata looked over when she heard someone call to Cassius. She noted the s reaction to the boy, unable to help a smile of her own.
"It's nice to meet you Jonathan! My name is Hinata Hayashi." Kagami, of course, looked up at Jonathan, smiling brightly.
"Hi! I'm Kagami!"

Gelion glared after the figure. Then looked back at Kye. Who looked twice as small as he had before. "He'll wake up sure. But I wasn't worried about him waking up. I'm worried about him recovering or not," he sighed. Then a moment later he disappeared and the purple glow covered Kye again.

The fiery figure paused a bit before answering:
”You’ll find out once you step through, don’t worry, it’s not anything extreme” the figure reassured, looking at the portal with the edge of his eyes.

Jade took a deep breathe and went through the portal

(This isn’t Altrince, I’m his roommate. I go by the name of Orion)
(Here’s just a quick update on his health. Silver’s currently at a local hospital to check on what’s going on. I don’t know what it’s called in English but he’s experiencing what we call ‘weather fever’. He’s getting better faster than I expected and he should be back in a few hours… hopefully)

”Hey Jon, do you know where… he is?” the doctor asked, his voice a bit shaky at the pause.
The kid looked confused at first but then answered.
”I think he is at the Gardens” the child answered, his tone a bit nervous but still maintaining a smile.
The doctor smiled, patted the kid’s head and turned back to Hinata.
”If you’ll excuse me, I’ll need to go” with that, he ran down the hall and disappeared in the shadows.

A chilly mist started to cover the hall of the maze that Kye and his partner were in. Soon, a figure revealed themself amongst the mist. They stopped when they found Kye on the ground. Their immediate response was to kneel down and touch Kye’s body.
”Oliver…” the figure muttered before they started transferring some of their own magic into Kye’s body, attempting to wake him up with the warm sensation.

As Jade stepped through the portal that closed soon after, she would see herself in an ice rink, one that looked as if it was made for skating. It was quite cold in the rink, possibly close to the negatives, and it was quiet… as silent as a pin drop the place was.

The figure gasped slightly before smiling just faintly. He then flipped his palm so Adara could see the back of his hands. There was a symbol, a purple one, one of a longsword with four sets of wings; two were open and were on the handle while two were closed, covering the sword’s blade.
”For us who have decided to devote our ‘lives’ to the Labyrinth as a Knight, we will be given this imprint on the back of our hand; a sign of loyalty, and a curse in itself. This symbol, as stated by several of our upperclassmen, blocks our views the memories we had when we were alive and replace them with new ones which could be related or completely unrelated to who we are know… meaning, this symbol could have changed the person as you know it. Those who were kind could now be sociopathic and vice versa” the former Knight explained.
