Evan hummed his agreement with a small nod, “Yeah, it is pretty. Hopefully one day soon I’ll be able to go. But hey, the work ‘ere is good so why leave when I know I’m better off stayin’ for a while.”

“Eh, true, true. Bu’ yeh can’t stay waitin’ fer tha ‘righ’ momen’, becoose none of ‘em are ever righ’. Eventually yeh’ll just need ta take tha step an’ pray ta th’ gods above it’ll work ou’ alrigh’ fer ya.” Otto grunted, pulling out a tiny knife to carefully trim away at his nails. “Ah was in th’ same boat once, believe it er no.”

He tilted his head to the side, curiosity lining his features, "Seriously? What did you do before ya know," He gestured to the stall behind Otto, "All of this. Travelin', seeing the world, meetin' new people, that sortta thing."

“Same ting, bu’ illegal. Was a pirate fer a good long while. No exactly tha best life plan, go’ out wi’ only a wee bit o trouble.” Otto scratched the back of his neck. “Jus’ had ta take th’ leap ‘n do it.” He sighed, laughing a little. “Luckily, tha boys don’ exactly give a fook aboot yer past.”

"Guess so," Evan sighed, "But again, doin' what you're doin' people don't really care about where you've come from so it doesn't matter. I'm way too weak to do what you do, definitely cut out for a life of medical I am."

“True enuff.” Otto snorted, looking Evander up and down at his remark. He was right- too scrawny for any kind of hard lifting. “Well, Ah’m sure yer good a’ wha’ yeh do. Good doc.” He finished trimming away at his nails with a sigh as he stashed the knife back away. “How’d yeh get into tha practice?”

Evander shrugged, crossing his hands over his chest and bringing his knees up a moment later, "Did a lo' o' readin' in my childhood, always loved the stories 'ealers and medics used to tell at the local markets, too. Pretty much started studyin' when I was sixteen so eleven years ago now. Guess I've always loved that sortta thing and been in'erested in it so why not make it my life?"
