"Maybe not." she said, putting her head on his chest and closing her eyes.
Til Death Do Us Part [One-On-One // Closed]
"You don't want our child to become a spy?" Fox murmured, pressing a soft kiss to the top of Ella's head. "It's what my parents did, and I certainly don't regret it. Especially since I got to meet you."
"Well, not until they were grown up." Ella said.
"Hm…" Fox hummed as he closed his eyes and shifted so that he held Ella in both of his arms. "All right."
"But we could still teach them to defend themself. I don't want my future kid getting into danger without a way to get out of it." she added.
"Yes, that makes sense," Fox agreed quietly, opening his eyes to look at Ella. "You are very beautiful, you know that?"
"Yes, I do. And you are rugged and handsome."
Fox chuckled. "You know it," he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to his wife's forehead.
"You, good sir, need sleep." Ella said, shifting her position slightly.
"Hm… Do I?" Fox asked, gently kissing a trail down the bridge of Ella's nose. "I suppose so."
"Stop distracting me and sleeeeeeeep!" Ella insisted.
Fox laughed quietly. "Okay, okay. I'll sleep," he gave in, smiling at his wife.
Ella smiled, satisfied. She allowed herself to drift off into sleep.
Fox watched his wife sleep for a moment, debating whether or not he really should sleep, or if he should go back to work on his assignment. With a sigh, he closed his eyes, deciding to stay in bed. After a few minutes, he fell asleep, dreaming about spies and gangs and small children.
Ella woke up with Fox beside her, still snoring. That was good, he hadn't gotten up in the middle of the night to finish his work when he had needed sleep.
Fox rolled over in his sleep, now laying on his side, facing Ella. He subconsciously reached an arm out and set it across her, holding onto her even in his sleep.
Ella smiled. She always liked the morning, always so peaceful. Like nothing bad could ever happen.
After a few more minutes, Fox finally opened his eyes. Upon seeing Ella, he smiled.
"Well, good morning, Mrs. Elsworth-Elliot," he greeted her, his voice raspy from sleep.
"Good morning to you too."
"Do you want me to make breakfast?" Fox asked as he continued to look at his wife.
"Yes. You're the only one of us who can actually cook."
Fox chuckled then yawned as he stretched and got out of bed.
"All right, babe. Would you care to keep me company as I cook?" he asked, giving Ella a small smile.
"Yeah, sure." she said, getting out of bed.
"What shall I make today?" Fox wondered, taking Anya's hand and placing it on his arm as they walked out to the kitchen.
"Well, anything works for me." Ella said.
Fox nodded slowly, looking thoughtful for a moment.
"How about pancakes? A special Saturday treat," he suggested, turning to Ella once they reached the kitchen.
"Sounds good."
Fox smiled at Ella for a moment before setting to work on the pancakes. He piled each one onto a plate after it finished, then set the plate on the dining room table.
"Anything you'd like for your pancakes, darling?" he asked when they were finished.
"For you to sit down and eat them with me." she grinned.
Fox rolled his eyes with a grin and grabbed the maple syrup from the fridge. He set it next to the pancakes before taking Ella's hand and pulling her over to the table with him.
"Of course," he laughed softly before sitting down.
