@faechain

(It's fine Bri, I have far too many OCs too)

@faechain

(also I actually have to go 'cause it's super late where I am - almost 1am; I just logged on to get to this real quick. I'll be back when I'm home from school, so in 17 hours oops)

@blue_topaz

(it's ok @"Bri S Odell", happens to me all the time!)
(@faechain, go ahead, get some rest! see you tomorrow!)

@blue_topaz

(oh, and concept: little homeless city dragons abandoned by their owners who pretend to be gargoyles and eat from garbage cans, filching food from the market)

@Lenered

Kanoa laughed, her tears instantly dried up, "That's funny! Thanks for cheering me up!" she looked gratefully towards the girl who'd consoled her and smiled.

@blue_topaz

(Guys, if you don’t know what a changeling in Irish Mythology is, please look it up or nothing I say will make sense. IT OT NOT A SHAPESHIFTER. I REPEAT IT IS NOT A SHAPESHIFTER)

Laurie blinked, astonished at how easy that had been. “Err… You’re welcome.”, she replied, actually smiling for the first time.

@blue_topaz

(Urg I just reread the part where Laurie was stammering and sweet lord that was the cringiest thing ever I am so sorry ignore that oh my god uhhrrrggg)
(Laurie is confident when she’s in her own, but as soon as she starts talking to someone she turns into a nervous wreck)

@blue_topaz

(also, I will constantly be making alterations to Laurie since she's one of my newer characters, so be warned.)

@blue_topaz

(there! I just edited the horrific stammering part, is it any better?)

@Lenered

(Yes! It was good before, too.)

@blue_topaz

(thanks, but… * looks back on it and cringes *)

@blue_topaz

(who's turn?)

@Lenered

"AWWW! You're so cute when you smile!" Kanoa cupped her hands on Lauriel's cheeks. Pauka quickly scrambled onto Lauriel's shoulders as soon as Kanoa leaned in. "Pauka, no! I'm sorry Lauriel, he just really likes people. And he seems to be fascinated with your wings." Kanoa reached over to get a clearer look, the loose strands of her long, white hair tickling Lauriel's face.

@Lenered

(mine)

@blue_topaz

(okies)

Laurie flushed purple again, her usually calm and stony demeanor shattered by the presence of the kindest girl, no person, she'd ever met. The gorgeous monkey nuzzled her face, and Laurie found herself cooing softly to him while she stroked his silky chest softly. "Oh, those.", Laurie said, twisting a bit so that Kanoa could get a better glimpse of her wings.

@Lenered

"He likes that. I mean, how you're stroking him. Oh spell, it took me two years to even get him to get close to me, taming a familiar is not easy." Kanoa stepped back and inspected Pauka's smug grin, "Well, aren't you glad that you decided to stow away."

@blue_topaz

Lauriel found herself grinning again as Pauka stuck his adorable little tongue out. "I've never had a familiar before, or an, um, pet. Faeries don't usually do that, I-I don't think.", she saud, the stammer fading slowly.

@Lenered

Kanoa smiled, "I got Pauka when I was five. My mom took me to the rain-forest to pick out my familiar and Pauka fell into my lap when we were hiking, he'd been abandoned, so I took him in. Oh my spell, that sounds so bad! I didn't illegally take Pauka from the rain forest, there are programs for a witch to get their familiar, so…..Yeah."

@blue_topaz

(arg my computer's dying and I can't find the chargerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i gtg soorrrryyyyyyyyyy)

@blue_topaz

(WAIT I FOUND IT YAY)

Laurie couldn't help but smile. "I've never been to the rain forest… What's it like?", she asked, rays of dun bouncing off the subtle gold markings on her arms and back. I didn't stutter this time!, she thought excitedly, her attention caught by a beautiful beaded necklace.

@Lenered

Kanoa's closed her eyes and smiled, "I remember walking on the wet ground, feeling the light mist brush across my face, and the beautiful flowers."

@Bri S Odell

Liza came down to Kanoa with her book. She frantically apologised and explained that she thought it was a different book. Only a couple of days earlier her enchanted book had been stolen from her from someone who looked like Kanoa.

@faechain

Mick walked over, eyeing Liza warily.
"Is everything alright, ladies?" he growled.

@blue_topaz

(Wait is she Liza or Adeline?)

Lauriel whirled around at the sound of a growl, fists clenched and ready to fight. “Is everything all right ladies?”, a guy asked, and she relaxed slightly, straightening her back and and eyeing him warily. “We’re fine.”, she replied, a cool ring suddenly sounding in her voice now that she felt threatened, without a trace of a stutter. That was just the way she was, unfortunately. The moment he left she would turn into a ball of nervous mush.

@Lenered

Kanoa smiled, "It's okay." she whirled around to meet Lauriel's eyes, "Do you see what happens when you look on the bright side?" Kanoa smiled and took the book from the thief's hands and flipped through it. "Snapdragon extract!" she yelled, and then her face burned red as she explained, "It's the ingredient I forgot. I didn't mean to yell it so loudly."

@faechain

Mick considered the witch thoughtfully before asking: "Actually, could you help me out a little here? I need to find some Mugwort or something and I have no idea where to even start looking." He prayed that the girl would help him out rather than dismiss him like the fae last time he was sent out here.

@Lenered

Kanoa tapped her chin and then her face lit up, "Mugwort! I know the exact stall where that's sold!" she pointed East, "I'll take you there!"

@blue_topaz

(bit of background for Laurie: I've based her off of Faeries in Irish mythology, so most of the random gaelic-sounding words you'll read are taken directly from myths surrounding the human-sized Irish fae. A changeling in Irish mythology is basically a Faerie baby that was swapped by its parents for a human one and placed in the crib while the human baby was kidnapped and taken to the land of the Faeries, while the Faerie baby was abandoned and left behind in the care of the stricken human parents. Laurie's a changeling who was abused by her human parents because they blamed her for the kidnapping of their baby, and she ran away one year ago, and has been trying to distance herself from "Mom" and "Dad" ever since. Her Faerie parents were part of a Faerie cult who had defected to the dark side, or Unseelie court [Seelie=good, Unseelie=evil in Irish mythology), who used the human to test their illegally and secretely brewed deadly poisons, antidotes, and weapons, and Laurie was VERY lucky to have been abandoned by them, although she doesn't know that.)

Laurie nodded, following while shooting a regretful smile to the Harpy lady with magpie feathers selling gorgeous, half-priced golden jewelre. I don't have money anyways., she told herself, frowning.

@faechain

"Thank you so much for this, my friend would kill me if I didn't get the right stuff," Mick gushed gratefully. He couldn't believe he actually had a chance at getting the right stuff this time! He started walking through the stalls with the witch, colourful trinkets surrounding him and thousands of smells teetering on the edge of completely overwhelming him.

@Lenered

Kanoa grabbed Lauriel's hand and the guy's hand and started leading them to the stall. "I know the guy who sells the stuff. His name is…Ummm…I don't know how to pronounce it. Hold on, Nemosin? No. That's not right. Anyways, he sells all sorts of stuff and right now, I'm looking for snapdragon extract which he has, so I can make a remembering potion! I'm pretty bad at that, but it's fine, I'll figure it out somehow. I mean remembering! Not making potions, but I mean…I'm not a straight A student or anything, I think the grade I got last semester was a B+. Yeah..I think. Oh my spell! I'm so sorry. I rambling!" Kanoa blushed and let go of Mick's hand for a second to pull back some stray strands of hair.
