River looked up as tears fell out of her eyes "I–can't –Brethe" She gasped

Liam shut his eyes. "Look kid, it'll be okay. I won't let anything happen to you, I promise."

River closed her eyes and calmed down a little

Veda relaxed a little. "Where are you? I mean where are we? We're not the The Island, are we?"

"The Island? What Island? No, we're… in a random mansion for some weird reason," Paige responded.

Veda nodded as she heard some talking in the distance. "I hear other people. They all seem panicked. We should go see why." Veda said evenly, turning towards Paige and trying to feel her way towards the other girl.

Paige came towards Veda and wrapped an arm around her shoulders and lead the way towards the others. "I'm Paige, by the way."

Veda let Paige lead her towards the others. "Thanks. My name's Veda, by the way."

"Maybe we could look around more. There's got to be a way out if there's a way in. I mean, if the kidnappers put us in here, they would've had to put us in our bedrooms we woke up in. Then they would've got out from somewhere," John said, still not being able to take his eyes off the screen in the case more devastating news appeared.

Veda let Paige lead her towards the others. "Thanks. My name's Veda, by the way."

Paige smiled warmly, but realized that Veda couldn't see her. Stupid… She and Veda entered the room with everyone else. "Uh, we heard you guys screaming… what's wrong?"

Veda clutched Paige tightly as she listened attentively to the sounds in the room.

Paige wrapped her arms around Veda, trying to assure her security.

"You two don't know…" Liam blinked at the new arrivals. Great. This is great. How do I politely say what is happening? "Fantastic," he muttered.

Veda took a shaky breath. "So basically The Island all over again. Wonderful." Veda muttered, loud enough for everyone to hear.

Paige's expression deadpanned and her face paled. After a second, she asked a strangled question: "When?" Upon hearing Veda, she said, "What, Veda?"

Veda sucked in a breath. "Then vote me." She spoke up.
No! You just spent seven years fighting for your life! You can't just give up now!
Veda ignored the conflict in her head. "Vote me." She said louder.

"No," he said firmly. "We're not. We'll find a way to keep everyone alive."

Lixi looked to the newcomers, she was very shy, but she needed to ask. "Veda, how does the person voted die?" Lixi asked shyly.
