Vanessa put her hands on her stomach quickly going downstairs to talk to harley quinn ¨Um Harley can I talk to you.¨
"yeah, I'm in the kitchen!"she called "what's up?"
Vanessa went to the kicthen and looked at Harley ¨I have something to ask you and I need you to not freak out¨ she said.
"dear, since when do you know me to freak out?" She said with a smile
¨Right um how did Joker react when you told him you were first pregnat¨ she asked.
She turned to her slowly "He was overjoyed when I told him I was pregnant with Jacklyn and Brink," she smiled at the memory "One of the best days of our lives, why do you ask?"
Vanessa bit her lip looking down at her stomach.
"…oh my GOD!!! BRINK LESTER JARVIS GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE NOW!!" she yelled
"Mom what happened?!" he asked frantic looking from her to Vanessa and back and his mother
"when were you going to tell me?" she asked with a bright smile
Vanessa smiled ne nervously.
He sighed in relief "At the baby reveal, where I was going to tell everyone. But kitty cat here can't keep her mouth shut." he kissed her affectionately and walked over to his mother
Harley leaned against the counter and shook her head with a smile "Oh my god, my little boy's going to be a father," she said, tears welling up in her eyes, "Brink you know I hate it when you make me cry,"
"Aw mom," he walked over and pulled her into an embrace, towering over her by a head
Vanessa smiled at the two when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She quickly put a hand on her stomach and hunched over.
They both rushed to her side, Brink getting there first "Love, what's wrong?" he glanced at his mother "mom?" she glanced at Vanessa and back to Brink "bring her to the couch, I'll be back with some tea and heating pads." she walked off while Brink lifted Vanessa in his arms, carrying her to the couch bride style. "Still hurting?"he asked gently and he set her down and sat on the ground near her head
Vanessa nodded clutching her stomach.
Brink half smiled and set a gentle hand atop hers "that's a no, this one's a fighter, just like his mother." he leaned his head on her shoulder
Vanessa breathed a sigh of relief. The pain had passed ¨Brink I think our kid is trying to kill me¨ she said.
He shook his head with a smile "I'm sure it's not, probably just getting comfy." He glanced at her with bright green eyes "if it comes out with craws, that's on you."
Vanessa smiled shyly. ¨If it comes out with green hair that´s on you¨ she said.
He shrugged "that's going to give the doctors a surprise." he grinned at the thought and glanced up at his mom
"Alright, ginger spice tea with cinnamon and heating pads." he handed the tea over to Brink while she helped Vanessa sit up and placed the heating pad under back "better dear?" she asked
¨A little thank you¨ she said crossing her legs.
Brink stood and handed Vanessa the tea. He jumped over her and onto the couch, sliding in between her and the back and wrapping arm around Vanessa
"Mom, how are you going to tell dad?" he asked, knowing his dad would flip out in excitement
"Don't worry about that, I'll find a way."
¨How are we gonna tell my Mom¨ she asked.
"…thought you told her already…" he glanced up at her "I don't know, I've talked to her a couple times after the wedding but never anything too far into a conversation."
Vanessa smiled looking down at the ring on her finger.
He smiled lovingly as he watched her "I could call her now if you'd like, I'm sure she would love to hear your voice again."
Vanessa looked up at him ¨yeah¨ she said.
He nodded and stood, looking around the room for his phone. Once get got it, he sat back down next Vanessa on the couch and dialed her mother's number
