Jonathan sat down next to Kera and held her close so they could share some warmth. He was shivering, but not as bad as she was.

Bull finished making the hot cocoa and passed them each a cup, sitting down and holding his cup with shaky hands.

“Well, even though we pretty much froze ourselves, that was fun, wasn’t it?”Jonathan asked after a moment, chuckling.

“Yeah it was. And you’re welcome,”Bull replied.

Jonathan snickered, then gave Kera a soft smile back. Bull noticed this and hummed.

“Okay, I got to ask. I overheard Boris mumbling something about you two being together. I didn’t get a chance to ask him, though. So, is that true, you’re a couple now?”Bull asked, looking between them inquisitively.

“Yes,”Jonathan replied calmly.

Bull blinked, then turned to Kera to hear her answer.

Jonathan turned, smiling at Kera.

Bull just stared at them for a moment. He then shook his head.

“How did you two end up like this after, what, a day or two? Before that, you two were basically enemies. It’s confusing as shit.”

“It’s a long story,”Jonathan replied, snickering as he looked up.

That only seemed to bewilder Bull even more.

Bull shook his head and sighed.

“And let me guess, you were crushing on her,”he said to Jonathan.

“Actually no. I was terrified of Kera as a kid. Though, that was mostly caused by Max, but that’s a whole other subject. But, despite my terror, I was fascinated by her,”Jonathan replied with a snicker, glancing at Kera with a warm smile.

Bull hummed.

“Now, what’s this whole separation deal?”he asked, genuinely curious.

“I was, like, eleven or so, when it happened. But separation is pretty much it. Our parents and the other adult crewmates just vanished from what I know, and we’ve been on our own since. Max and I basically fended for ourselves up until he started the Tricky Skippers crew. I’m not sure about Kera here. And, kinda like she said, I didn’t even realize it was her until we started talking,”Jonathan explained.

Bull blinked, then hummed again. He turned to Kera.

“What about you? Pretty much the same story up until you met Keigo?”he asked.

Jonathan gently rubbed her back, looking at Kera with concern. He then held her close, continuing to rub her back. It pained him that she was still haunted by that moment.

Bull listened closely then sighed, shaking his head.

“Don’t focus on that moment too much, alright? It won’t do you any good. It’s already past. Now, considering what you said about Keigo knowing your pa, has he ever given you a clue to what happened to him? Does he even know? And who are your parents anyway? I get the sense that I might know them, or, at least, of them,”Bull asked, looking between the two.

“My mother was Captain Esmeralda May. My father, I remember him being called Theo a lot, was the helmsman,”Jonathan answered.

Bull considered the names a moment, then pointed at Kera.

“And yours?”

Bull winced at the mention of how Kera’s mother supposedly died. He then hummed, deep in thought for a moment.

“I think I might have sold weapons to Esmeralda and her crew around twenty years ago,”Bull said.

He then looked at the pair, studied their features. He nodded after a moment.

“Yeah. You got Esmeralda’s brown hair. And you… I can’t remember much of Edmund’s face at the moment, but I can tell the relation. Anyway, we only met three times and that was it, so I really didn’t get to know them,”Bull explained.

Jonathan stared at Bull, unsure how to react.

Bull shrugged,”I got around when I was younger. But, anyway, you look ready for a nap. Hell, I think a nap would do us all good.”

Bull then stood and stretched, yawning loudly. He then grabbed the three empty cups before heading out of the galley.

“‘Night, you two. I had fun,”Bull said before disappearing.

Jonathan snickered,”Goodnight, Bull.”

Jonathan then turned to Kera, yawning a bit.

“Well, should we head back?”Jonathan asked softly.

(Lol. Had a toast with the family. Long story short, it was fucking funny. And yeah, I’m three hours behind you, it’s only 1:15 for me right now, lmao!)

Jonathan snickered.

“I know the feeling. But… if we get up now, we can cuddle up together under a nice, cozy blanket. Eh?”

Jonathan chuckled at Kera’s response, then followed her and snuggled up with her. He chuckled again, then yawned.

“I’m glad you’re warm. Goodnight, Kera. Or… technically morning, but either way,”he said softly, smiling at her.

Jonathan snickered, then held Kera close. He fell asleep fairly quickly, content and warm.

At sunrise, Jonathan was still asleep, snoring softly. He looked so tranquil.

Jonathan shifted when Kera got up, making small noises but otherwise not stirring.

Boris was out in the hall just outside his room, stretching and yawning. He saw Kera and waved.

Boris shrugged.

“No idea yet. I just got up,”he replied with a chuckle. He yawned again.

Jonathan inhaled and sat up a bit, his eyes barely open.

“Huh? Shit, it’s morning already?”he asked, groaning.

“Alright, alright. I’ll get up,”he sighed, slowly sitting up.
