Avery sat down at a table behind two boys. she couldn't see there face but looked like they were on a date. (@JellyBeanIris can Axtin and Avery be friends?)

Argo shook his head. “No, no, not at all. I’m just awkward,” he insisted, finishing his coffee. A waiter came by, refilling his cup as they walked by

(Yeah!)
"Alright," he said shrugging. Noticing that the man across from him had his cup refilled with just black coffee, he was curious.
"You drink it black?"

Cal decided to sit down at an empty table, limping slightly on his prosthetic. He tried to make himself pay attention to where he was stepping so he wouldn't stumble, but it was hard when he had only slept for a couple hours. Sitting down, he rubbed his eyes tiredly in an attempt to wake himself up.

“I tend to have it either black or with chocolate liquor. It depends,” he responded, adjusting his tie again. It kept getting crooked, and it bothered him a little

His tie seemed a bit crooked still, so Axtin stood and attempted to fix it. He gave a small hum in concentration.
"I think I got it," Axtin concluded with a grin.
(I snuck on for the ship, gtg again wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)

Argo went red again, and he suppressed the urge to bury his face in his hands. “Thank you,” he murmured, a hand rubbing across his stubbled chin as he tried to will some of the color in his face away

"No prob," he said, taking his seat again. He was about to take another sip of his coffee when he noticed Argo blushing again. He gave the man a warm smile before resuming taking a drink of his warm beverage.

( Lmao. )

Argo made a noise that sounded like he was clearing his throat, which wasn't totally necessary considering he didn't use his. "So…" he began, sipping his coffee absently. "May I ask the sudden interest in me?"

group
@Painted-Iris group

Well that was a surprise. Axtin shrugged. "You just seemed a bit lonely I guess? Plus you were the one who was staring first," he said, unsure of what kind of response Argo was hoping to hear.

@_sleeby_rat_

Argo went red again, more from embarrassment than anything. "Sorry, I didn't mean to stare." He stopped himself there in fear of accidentally making himself sound like a creep

group
@Painted-Iris group

"No, no, I didn't mean it like that!" he exclaimed, cursing at himself under his breath. He began to mess with the hem of his shirt in thought of how to word things correctly this time.
"Sorry, I'm not quite sure how to word it exactly," he admitted with a chuckle.

@_sleeby_rat_

"Don't worry," Argo chuckled. "It's actually rather nice of you to sit with someone like me," he said, smiling softly. Truth be told he appreciated company. He tended to scare people off, or attract people only interested in him for the money everyone assumed he had

group
@Painted-Iris group

"Well that's a relief. I thought that I would end up making things awkward," he said with a sigh. He had finished his coffee a few sips ago, but made no move to stand up or move.

@_sleeby_rat_

"I don't think you could make things any more awkward than my presence alone makes it," Argo joked. "I am not the most socially adept person despite the fact that I'm a hotel manager. The irony, I suppose," he said, taking another sip of his coffee

group
@Painted-Iris group

Axtin nearly facepalmed. He had no idea that Argo was the manager of the hotel. Huh.
"Aw, don't be so pessimistic. I'm 100% sure you're not as bad as you say you are. Heck, if you can handle a forward person like me, I'd say you're about set," he argued with a laugh.

@_sleeby_rat_

Argo rolled his eyes, smiling a little. "Well when I'm on shift I tend to be a complete other person. Everyone's got a work mode, mine happens to be the tired, grumpy manager who really would not like to listen to Madam Mercie complain about the air conditioning," he chuckled

group
@Painted-Iris group

"Well no one enjoys a whiner," Axtin said with a half smile. Man, that part of owning a hotel was probably annoying!

@_sleeby_rat_

Argo grinned, laughing a little. "No, Madam Mercie, I'm sorry the air conditioning doesn't go that high. I know your grandson is a volcano spirit but that doesn't mean the lower class apartments will magically have air conditioning that surpasses -50 degrees," he said in a fake, annoyed sounding voice

group
@Painted-Iris group

Axtin burst out laughing. He could only imagine some random lady waving her arms around in the air as Argo attempted to be polite. The poor man.

@_sleeby_rat_

Argo chuckled, smiling at Axtin's reaction. His laugh was rather nice to listen to. His voice changed to something somehow deep and nasally, and he continued to gesture with his hands. "My name's Damascus, I'm the owner of the Basilisk. Argo do this, Argo do that. Wipe the tables, work 40 hours straight in the lobby, go book my next date with my weird spider boyfriend," he said, beginning to laugh towards the end

group
@Painted-Iris group

Axtin lost it at the last comment. "Sp-spider boyfriend? aHA I bet that's more than a couple of handfuls," he said through his laughter.

@_sleeby_rat_

"God, it is," Argo said exasperatedly, leaning back in the booth dramatically. "I mean come on, I get that my boss is a god and all and everyone is weird where I live, but did he have to have a spider for a boyfriend? Whose hair is taller than me?" he joked

group
@Painted-Iris group

"Good god, that sounds terrible. I'm sorry you have to deal with that…" Axtin said. Argo really was overworked here. He felt bad.

@_sleeby_rat_

Argo shrugged. "Eh. Been stuck working for the guy for the past…200? 300 years? You get used to it after the first decade or so."
